Again, today’s light slate is expected on a Thursday, but it’s still an interesting one. That’s because we have some series continuing and some new ones starting as well. The first four games that we can make MLB expert picks are continuations, while the latter two will mean brand new MLB predictions to make.

What may seem even crazier about that is the nightcap of Rockies vs. Padres. It’s an NL West “rivalry,” but the crazy part is that San Diego was just all the way across the country in Pittsburgh yesterday! They at least had the very first game of the day to help with the travel, but it’s still not ideal scheduling for fans to back them with their MLB picks.

Speaking of early games, today’s slate starts early at 12:10 PM ET and even has a featured matchup on ESPN of Tigers vs. Twins. With the latter in mind, with White Sox vs. Royals also a new series, we’ve got almost the entire AL Central facing one another. 🔥 Athletics vs. Yankees Best Bet: Paul Goldschmidt Over 1.5 Total Bases (+114 at Novig)

We’re taking which Yankee? That’s right - one that isn’t even a daily starter anymore! We also like Aaron Judge here with -117 odds, but we’re still going to target the former St. Louis Cardinal with our MLB best bets today. He’s slotted in the leadoff spot today to close things out against the Athletics at home.

Not only is Yankee Stadium friendly to hitters, but Goldschmidt is one of the best and most consistent hitters versus lefties in the past decade or more. He has a career average of .323 against southpaws, and most importantly for this specific market, a .584 slugging percentage. That’s good news facing Jeffrey Springs today.

He’s far from the worst lefty out there, but he’s also no ace. Again, take Judge if you prefer, but we’ve got Paul Goldschmidt over 1.5 total bases (+114 at Novig) teeing off our MLB best bets today.

🔥 Diamondbacks vs. Mets Best Bet: Francisco Lindor Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-124 at Novig)

You can roll with total bases here as well, but we’re going to switch up the combo prop just a bit. This is the other leadoff man for the other New York team in action today, so we’ve got a bit of a theme going to our MLB best bets today. The Mets are also at home, and Lindor needs to step up with Soto still out of the lineup.

Batting leadoff means strong opportunities to score a run after a hit to cash this pick in only a few pitches. Like Goldschmidt, he will also be facing a lefty today in Eduardo Rodriguez. In his career, the shortstop has a .633 slugging percentage, and New York can still win this four-game series, even after yesterday’s loss.
