MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 9/10 Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction: Thursday, September 10th

Its a matchup between a pair of teams likely heading for postseason baseball but today they will stand in each other's way! The Astros are in town for a series hosted by the Phillies and off the jump there's a mismatch here! 

Cristian Javier will start for the Astros on the mound tonight and he's had a tough season that has continued into the closing days of the schedule. Since August started Javier has pitched 28.1 innings and has allowed 16 earned runs, 31 hits and six home runs. That's not good form heading into a meeting with this Phillies lineup. He is equally generous to right and left handed bats which is good as the Phils have equal parts each way. 

Luis Arraez is the name to wager on today as he's hit .281 against right handed pitching this season and over the last week his stats have jumped off that page hitting .381 with a .893 OPS. He will hit clean up today and that means runners in scoring position most likely. Let's go ahead and take Arraez over his hits/runs/RBIs today and watch the ball fly around the park!

On top of that its Zack Wheeler day for the Phillies. He had a rough go in August but in day games this year his ERA is 1.62 with 46 strikeouts over 39 innings pitched. The Astros over the past two weeks are striking out at a 22.8% K-rate so I am going to tab Wheeler to go over on his strikeouts tonight.
