Orioles vs. Phillies Predictions

An interleague matchup between the Orioles and Phillies is set to kick off today, and it looks to be a really good spot for the home team! Jesus Luzardo vs. Cade Povich tonight, so let’s dive into the bets for this one.

Povich is back from a stint on the injured list, and while it's always nice to get an arm back, he’s had a tough season. On the season, he’s holding an ERA of 5.15 and a WHIP of 1.50 with 74 hits allowed over the course of 64.2 innings pitched. Those aren’t great numbers heading into a game against this Phillies offense that, since the start of July, is hitting a .291 team BABIP and .195 isolated power mark, the 6th highest in baseball. The Phillies' lineup also hits lefties well with 6 players that are everyday players hitting over .270 on the season.

On the other end of the matchup, you have Jesus Luzardo, who had a tough July with allowing 16 runs over 25.2 innings and 12 total walks. Luckily for him, the Orioles struggle against lefties as they hold a K-rate on the season of 24.1% and an ISO of just .122, the 4th lowest mark in MLB. All these things together, combined with the Phillies' pristine home record, I think they cruise to a win tonight and cover the Run Line at -1.5.

But wait, there’s more! Bryce Harper is on a tear over the last week, hitting .381 with a 1.125 OPS, and has also hit lefties well over the course of his career. Povich is allowing a .273 average and an .829 OPS when it comes to lefty on lefty crime, so give me the Phillies' all-star to go over his hits/runs/RBIs prop.

Pick: Phillies Run Line -1.5 (+100 on DraftKings)

Pick: Bryce Harper (PHI) Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-145 on DraftKings)
