MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 6/4

Orioles vs. Mariners Predictions

It’s a matchup tonight between the East and West Coast as the O’s and Mariners continue their series in Seattle! Two not-so-good pitchers will take the mound against each other, and I have a few ways we can make that work to our advantage!

Starting with Emerson Hancock, he’s been beat up at home this season, allowing an ERA of 9.53 and has 10 walks over 17 innings pitched. He is also allowing an OBA of .356 and has given up 5 homers thus far in front of the home crowd. This is all very good news for Baltimore hitters tonight as they are riding a 4-game winning streak into tonight, and many of the bats are heating up! Jackson Holliday has been one of the biggest contributors during this time, as over the past 5 games, he’s hitting .286 with a .890 OPS that includes 12 total bases, 3 RBIs, and 2 Runs in the last 21 at-bats. He will also be hitting leadoff tonight against the Mariners, which means we can expect 4-5 at-bats, and his prop of 1.5 hits/runs/RBIs should be cleared without issue!

Flipping it over now to Cade Povich, who will start for the Orioles, he’s had his problems as well, allowing a 5.48 ERA in the month of May. His one saving grace is that the Mariners do not hit lefties well at all, apart from Cal Raleigh, who is bashing anyone in sight right now. I dare anyone to fade the “big dumper” at this point, but I do think given the splits that Povich and the Orioles win this game tonight and continue their winning streak, so give me the Orioles on the Money Line.

Pick: Jackson Holliday (BAL) Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-130 on DraftKings)

Pick: Orioles Money Line (-110 on DraftKings)

Twins vs. Athletics Predictions

Anytime there’s a matchup in good summer weather in a triple-A ballpark in West Sacramento, it has my attention! The Athletics, despite their record, have been a fun team to watch swing the bats this season with many of the sluggers putting it out of the park on night in and night out basis. Tonight, those bats get Zebby Matthews of the Twins to tee off on, and it could get ugly for the youngster pitcher.

Zebby has a career ERA over 6, and this season has done nothing to change that mark as he’s started 3 games and has allowed 10 runs, 16 hits, and 5 walks over 14 innings of work. His OBA has climbed to .286 overall, and against lefties, it's even worse at .310! That’s where the A’s offense comes into play in the betting department tonight as they have lefties that can rake, namely Lawrence Butler

Butler, over the past 7 games, is hitting .346 with an OPS of 1.100 and has collected a home run, 4 doubles, and 7 runs over 26 at-bats. He should be feasting tonight against Matthews while he’s riding this hot streak, and the fact, he is hitting leadoff means we should see him at the plate a minimum of 4 times, but more likely 5 times! His line of hits/runs/RBIs is just 1.5, and that’s a joke considering the trends heading into tonight, let’s hammer that over and add the offense of the A’s in general to go over their team total prop of 4.5 runs at plus money!

Pick: Lawrence Butler (ATH) Over 1.5 Total Bases (-140 on DraftKings)

Pick: Athletics Team Total Over 4.5 Runs (+105 on DraftKings)
