Reds vs. Red Sox Predictions

It’s an interleague matchup between the Reds and Red Sox tonight, and it could be lopsided, looking at the pitching matchup! The ace for Boston in Garrett Crochet will get the start, and he’s been on a war path this season, holding down a 2.1 ERA over the course of June that has included allowing just 24 hits over 34.1 innings pitched and 46 strikeouts! 

These trends will prove advantageous for the lefty arm tonight as the Reds' lineup really struggles against the southpaws, with over half the lineup hitting under .240 on the season. Cincinnati is also striking out 22.2% of the time in the month of June, so Crochet going over 7.5 seems like the smart bet to start off this matchup. 

In addition to that, we’ve got Chase Burns on the hill for the Reds, and he looked really good in his first career outing with 8 strikeouts and allowing just 3 earned against the Yankees. He will get a Red Sox lineup that is struggling to put the ball in play as they rank 3rd highest in MLB in K-rate at 25.2%. It puts him like Crochet in a great spot as the offense, even when putting the ball in play, doesn’t produce consistently. That makes me love the under in this game today in what should be a low-scoring pitchers' duel.
