MLB Postseason Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 10/13

Mariners vs. Blue Jays Predictions

Game 1 was a big win to steal on the road for the Mariners as they held the Blue Jays to just a couple of hits in a master class from Bryce Miller and company. Today, it will be Logan Gilbert on the bump against the youngster, Trey Yesavage. How will it shake out? Let’s dive into the matchup. 

The Blue Jays, for their faults, aren’t a team that strikes out; they haven’t been all season, and they haven’t been in the postseason either. Of all the postseason teams, the Blue Jays have the lowest K-rate in the field at 14.5% so Logan Gilbert will have a tough go getting the punchouts. His prop currently sits at 4.5 at plus money, and seeing as pitchers get a quick hook in the postseason, I really like this bet today. 

In addition to that, I believe the Blue Jays get a big start from their young pitcher today, but also utilize more of that .237 isolated power mark we saw in previous series. You just aren’t going to hold this lineup to 2 hits every game, and because of that, I expect some progression this afternoon in the lineup, and I will take the Blue Jays to even up the series and win on the Money Line.
