Red Sox vs. Yankees Predictions

Each game of this series has been tight, so it's only fitting that it goes to a rubber match in Game 3 tonight! It will be a pair of youngsters on the bump for their teams tonight as Connelly Early goes against Cam Schlittler, and it has opened a wager for me to make in this game.

I am liking the angle to attack Early on the Red Sox mound today, as he’s a rookie and this is a huge spot to be placed into. He’s a lefty, which normally would grant him some grace, but the Yankees have the highest isolated power mark in MLB against the southpaws this season at .201, and they have a team BABIP of .302! This could spell trouble for the rookie, and I believe the Yankees' offense gets after him tonight.

On the other end, it's Cam Schlittler on the bump for the Yankees, and overall, he had a great campaign. September was a bit inconsistent, though, as he gave up 11 walks and 18 hits on 24.2 innings pitched, and the ERA went up to 3.65. None of those numbers are bad, but they aren’t great either. Mix that with the fact that the Red Sox have 6 runs in the series so far, I think this game can surpass the 7 runs on the game total tonight, so let’s ride the over in the Bronx and pray for some bombs!
