Let’s get those MLB Best Bets and Prop Bets today going and start the week off right!

Tough not to brag a little, but the Fantasy Alarm #FAmily is coming off another strong weekend. Between  Dan Servodidio staying in the green for the MLB Bets, Mike Iannone crushing the MMA world, both in betting and DFS, and, of course, Iggy Gilbert getting your weekend started off right with his Friday NBA Best Bets, were looking to carry some serious momentum into the week. Looking at today’s MLB slate, we’ve got plenty of opportunities to do just that.

MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 5/6

We had a few ups and downs during Friday’s slate as we witnessed some surprising struggles from starting pitchers from whom we expected more, most notably Tanner Houck and Jordan Hicks. But while the day failed to turn a profit, we are still up for the season. With a strong day today, I expect us to clear the 10-unit mark for profit and sail off into the sunset. Nothing better than kicking off the week with a few wins.

Giants vs. Phillies Prediction: Monday, May 6

Welcome to the majors, Mason Black. The Giants’ 24-year-old righthander hasn’t allowed an earned run in any of his last four starts in the minors (18 innings) and is set to make his debut against an unforgiving Phillies offense that sports a .325 wOBA against righties this season and has posted that same number just over the last seven days. They are a little too aggressive at the plate which leads to too many strikeouts, but the numbers on Black’s props are already juiced for that. We’ll stay on the side of the Phillies hitting the rookie a little bit in the first half, including their hottest hitter Alec Bohm riding an 18-game hit streak, while Zack Wheeler stifles a Giants offense that sports a .269 wOBA over the past week.

Mets vs. Cardinals Prediction: Monday, May 6

There are two factors in-play for this Mets/Cardinals game today. Number one is St. Louis’ inability to hit lefthanded pitching. They may not strike out a ton, but they post a .259 wOBA against southpaws which is horrendous. The other is that Kyle Gibson is terrible and even though the Mets are about as mediocre as they come, we have several players who hit Gibson really well. We’ll, again, focus on the first part of the game where I firmly believe Manaea outduels Gibson with ease.

Mariners vs. Twins Prediction: Monday, May 6

Had this game been at home, I would have listed a dozen other Luis Castillo props and let the chips fall where they may. But this is in Minnesota, so while Castillo has clearly turned the corner for himself this season, we won’t go too hard against a Twins team that us just coming off a 12-game win streak. Still, the Twins are striking out 24.6-percent of the time against righties and they aren’t hitting for big power which is usually Castillo’s hiccup. While he’s keeping the Twins bats at bay, the Mariners bats should build off of their .327 wOBA over the last seven days, fourth-highest in MLB.
