TGIF! Welcome to the another weekend MLB bettors as we grind out the final month of the MLB regular season. Hopefully it was a nice work week and you have fun plans for the weekend, I know I will be watching the NFL but don't forget about the cash cow that has been the MLB Best Bets these last few months! Today's piece features a strikeout prop, a Money Line, a team total and a player prop, all of which I very much back against the books. Good luck as always and see everyone back here tomorrow for some more winners!

MLB Best Bets for September 8

Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants

The Giants continue to chase a wild card spot in the National League although it is slipping away fast thanks to a 6 game losing streak but at least things may improve this weekend as the Rockies come to town. Colorado is a dismal 22-50 on the road this season but the Money Line is out of control for the Giants so I am targeting a player prop instead. The Rockies as a team strikeout 10.14 times per game on the road this season and that's the 4th highest rate in the MLB this season. Enter Kyle Harrison who doesn't have a long track record having made only 3 starts in the MLB so far but he's in a great spot and has collected 21 strikeouts over 15.1 innings pitched so the average looks good. Give me Harrison to continue building on his young career tonight and hit the over on his line of 6.5 strikeouts.

Pick: Kyle Harrison Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-130 on BetMGM)

St. Louis Cardinals at Cincinnati Reds

Its a matchup between NL Central foes as the Cardinals travel to the Queen City trying to play spoiler for the Reds playoff dreams. This game is priced tightly on the Money Line and while I understand from an overhead view why as the Reds haven't been too good at home I think Andrew Abbott getting the start deserves some more respect. Abbott has won 4 of the last 5 games and looked damn good in the process allowing just 8 earned runs in those wins. On the flip side the Cardinals are well under .500 on the road this season and have lost 6 of the last 9 games as the away side. I think the Reds at just -120 are a bit mispriced and their projected team total sits at 4.91 so I will be taking their team total over as well as the Money Line!

Pick: Cincinnati Reds Money Line (-120 on DraftKings)

Pick: Cincinnati Reds Team Total Over 4.5 Runs (-130 on DraftKings)

Seattle Mariners at Tampa Bay Rays

This matchup is truly one of what was and what is as the Mariners are the hottest team in baseball right now and the Rays were just several months ago. The Rays are still a good team but they'll be sending out Taj Bradley and his 5.42 ERA  and those numbers are actually worse recently. In the month of August Bradley held an ERA of 7.89 and really got tossed around and I am thinking the Mariners will likely pile on seeing as their offense has been trending upwards. I will be specifically targeting Julio Rodriguez on the Seattle side as his second half of the season has been top notch and his road numbers are slightly better than at home. This sets me up for one of my favorite player props that I haven't hit in some time but 2.5 hits, runs and RBIs for Julio tonight just seems right so let's ride that over.

Pick: Julio Rodriguez Over 2.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (+110 on DraftKings)

**all bets are one unit unless specifically mentioned.
