MLB Best Bets and Betting Picks for September 2nd
Welcome to Saturday and a holiday weekend everyone! Its Labor Day weekend and the weather is still like July in Virginia, please help it's too hot! It will be a perfect day for a margarita though under the sun as I celebrate the life of the great Jimmy Buffett. Its a little known fact but I grew up in a house of parrot heads so today is a tough one but legends never really die! Back to the baseball though as yesterday we were saved with a late Blue Jays rally to lose just some pocket change on the night. For today I am eyeing up some winners and in this article we have a Money Line and a pair of strikeout props that are juicy! Good luck as always everyone, go find that lost shaker of salt and see you all again tomorrow.

MLB Best Bets for September 2
Seattle Mariners at New York Mets
A lot of betting in the MLB this late in the regular season if identifying what teams are playing for something and which teams are not and this matchup between the Mariners and Mets is just that! I know you heard this yesterday but its still true this Saturday even after Seattle hurt me with a tough loss on the road last night. All the stats and rationale still apply with the Mariners being one of the hottest teams in the MLB and Luis Castillo will get the start with his 3.01 ERA. The Mets are going to struggle to score runs as they have since the All-Star break and they will be even more put out as David Peterson starts on the mound for them. The odds on Seattle aren't as good as yesterday but -140 for a team projected to score 4.7 runs compared to the Mets 4.06 in a big enough gap to make the bet worth it.
Pick: Seattle Mariners Money Line (-140 on BetMGM)
Minnesota Twins at Texas Rangers
As many of you know I very much enjoy betting strikeout props against the Twins as they just can't help themselves when it comes to swinging and missing. On the road this season the Twins strikeout 10.36 times per game and that is the 2nd highest rate in the MLB this season. Enter Jordan Montgomery for the Rangers who will start today and has a K prop of 5.5. I wouldn't say Montgomery is know for punching out batters but he has had his moments with 13 starts at 6 strikeouts or more and the matchup will be perfect for him too as the Twins really struggle scoring and hitting against lefties. Going to ride the fade train on the Twins until it goes off the track so hit the over on Montgomery tonight.
Pick: Jordan Montgomery Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-105 on DraftKings)
San Francisco Giants at San Diego Padres
Final best bet of the day here as the Giants and Padres reignite their division rivalry at Petco Park tonight. Don't get me wrong the Giants are a impressive team given their roster this season and the Padres have been a disappointment but one thing is sticking out to me in this matchup and its the amount of times the Giants swing and miss on average. As a road team the Giants strikeout more than any team in the MLB at an average of 10.49 times per game, that's an absurd amount! Enter one of the hottest pitchers in the MLB since the mid season break in Blake Snell. His number stands at 7.5 strikeouts tonight and that's a high number but one that is reachable. Snell has totaled 46 strikeouts over the last 35 innings pitched this season so the average is close but I expect him to get the job done against these Giants hitters.
Pick: Blake Snell Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-135 on Caesars)
**all bets are one unit unless specifically mentioned.
