Happy Saturday on the MLB Best Bets! As I write this my area is getting dumped with rain from this tropical storm moving up the east coast so its going to a full day inside watching baseball and I love it! Yesterday was the first losing day in about a week so that stung but luckily the plus money player prop hit so I only went down a unit. Moving on to a new day though with a trio of bets I am excited about and they include a team total, a player prop and an underdog Money Line wager! Good luck as always and see everyone post NFL Sunday!

MLB Best Bets for September 23

Colorado Rockies at Chicago Cubs

Anytime the Cubs are on the betting slate you already know I am looking to get invested in the offense and against a team as poor as the Rockies I am ready to double down! Chicago has averaged 5.34 runs per game at home this season, the 3rd highest rate in the majors and they'll be going up against the Rockies bullpen today as they are rolling out an opener for this game. Chris Flexen will be the first offering to this Cubs offense with his 7.19 ERA on the season and they should have a field day with him. The Cubs are projected around 5.3 runs today according to the model so their team total runs of 4.5 is too low and we will be taking the over. Not stopping there though as I said we are doubling down so that means a player prop to add for me and its all about Nico Hoerner. Hoerner will be hitting in the 2 hole tonight and stands to have an excellent game given the matchup and the fact he has an OBP of .348 at home this season and should collect a couple hits. His line is just 1.5 for hits, runs and RBIs so count me in on his over in that category today.

Pick: Chicago Cubs Team Total Over 4.5 Runs (-130 on PointsBet)

Pick: Nico Hoerner Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-160 on DraftKings)

Seattle Mariners at Texas Rangers

Heading back to this series after the losing bet last night on Dane Dunning who apparently can't get strikeouts anymore… Going to stick more to the game side of this wager though as the model is giving a slight edge to the Mariners tonight as they send out Logan Gilbert to go against Jordan Montgomery. Should be a great pitching matchup but the edge goes to Gilbert with his 3.77 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. The lineup for Seattle also woefully underperformed last night and that's not something that happens most days as the Mariners have hit as well as anyone since July. The Mariners are also a very good road team, with more wins away from home than at home so not too worried about the splits there. Seattle will be plus money today too and that never hurts so lets hit that Mariners Money Line.

Pick: Seattle Mariners Money Line (+105 on BetMGM)

**all bets are one unit unless specifically mentioned.
