It may seem like a weekend party cliche but what happened last night!? I wrote this MLB Best Bets article yesterday and headed out to see Dierks Bentley, which was a fantastic show by the way and on the way out of the show I realized I didn't pick any winning bets on the slate for the first time this MLB season… Naturally I was disappointed of course but it helps you understand that sports betting is a humbling endeavor and it also tests you to take swings but believe me folks always stick to your betting plan and bet within your means. With that PSA out of the way here are the best bets I will be placing this afternoon, enjoy your Sunday everyone!

MLB Best Bets for July 30

Philadelphia Phillies at Pittsburgh Pirates

Bet on this game yesterday and go burned but I feel good about the fading my hometown Pirates in this one today as Rich Hill takes the mound. Nothing but love for Hill as he has been a staple of the game for a long time but he just doesn't have it anymore. His line for earned runs allowed today sits at 2.5 and that seems like a great number to jump in on as Hill has allowed over that number in 7 of his last 8 starts and against the Phillies offense it should be a tough night for him. The Philly offense is average 4.48 runs per game this season which is middle of the pack but they do have an implied run total of 4.84 today and the full group of bats are starting 1-5 in the lineup today for them. Give me the Phillies to light it up against old man Rich Hill today in Pittsburgh.

Pick: Rich Hill Over 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-155 on BetMGM)

Pick: Rich Hill Under 17.5 Outs Recorded (+105 on DraftKings)

Cleveland Guardians at Chicago White Sox

Back to the money train on a Sunday afternoon with a bet on the Cleveland Guardians! They wrap up their 4-game series with the White Sox today and the trip to Chicago has been a bad one for Cleveland overall as they try to get out of the series with 2 wins a piece. Lucky for them their most consistent pitcher this season with get the start, I am talking about Aaron Civale of course with his 2.54 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. He has been even better in July too as he has allowed just 6 earned runs over 31.1 innings and just 20 hits in the same timespan. He will get to face a White Sox team that scores just 4.21 runs per game, the 7th fewest rate in the MLB. Give me Cleveland to win at a very fair price of -145 on the Money Line. Let's also lock in Josh Naylor today as his prop of hits, runs and RBIs is back down to 1.5 today and while you'll have to eat some juice he is red hot this month batting .349 with 21 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has also topped this prop line in 2 of the last 3 games most recently.

Pick: Cleveland Guardians Money Line (-145 on BetRivers)

Pick: Josh Naylor Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-155 on DraftKings)
