MLB Best Bets and Betting Picks for July 16
Happy Sunday out there to everyone in Fantasy Alarm land, hope you all had a restful weekend. I had a great Saturday on the social side but my best bets from yesterday were a swift kick in the groin and I honestly can't tell if it's the losers or the grilled burgers hangover that has my head hurting right now. Either way we gave old man Vegas some money back yesterday and I plan on winning it back today on a 1st 5 Innings Line, a strikeout prop and a Run Line out in Colorado today. Best of luck to all out there on the MLB wagers today, here is what I am going to bet on for today's Sunday slate.
- Saturday's Record: 1-3
- Season Record: 42-36-1

MLB Best Bets for July 15
Tampa Bay Rays at Kansas City Royals
Sometimes in betting you just need to keep things simple, betting a great team against a horrible one is a good direction to go in. This is especially true when Zach Eflin takes the mound this season for Tampa Bay with his 10-4 record, 3.25 ERA and 0.99 WHIP. Shane McClanahan gets all the fanfare but make no mistake Eflin is getting the job done just as well. He will get a Royals team today that loves to swing and miss as they do 9.09 times per game, the 8th highest rate in the MLB this season. As I see it Eflin should dominate the game while he's in so it makes sense to bet the Rays in the 1st 5 innings today and tack on a strikeout prop as well with Eflin totaling 48 strikeouts over his last 42.1 innings of work. The Money Line on the 5 innings is just too juiced though so instead let's hit the Run Line of -0.5 for a much better margin of -135. As for the strikeouts it sits at 5.5 and that's just way too low for a guy that is well over a strikeout per inning and tends to go 6 innings or more in most starts so give me the Rays in a couple different ways this afternoon!
Pick: Tampa Bay Rays 1st 5 Innings Run Line -0.5 (-130 on BetMGM)\
Pick: Zach Eflin Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-115 on DraftKings)
New York Yankees at Colorado Rockies
Things have been better in Yankee land as they've lost 6 of the last 10 games but today they get to close out a series in the mountains against the Colorado Rockies and they should take care of business. Gerrit Cole will get the start today and he has picked up the slack for the Yankees offense his last few starts. Cole had a rock solid June and okay July thus far but I believe he's back on the up after getting to rest mostly during the All-Star break. The only thing giving me pause has been the lack of strikeouts in his last 2 starts so we won't be wagering on that but the Yankees to win and do so with conviction I do like. The Money Line is very chalky but the Run Line is sitting around -140 and that is easier to swallow. Chase Anderson will be starting for the Rockies, which makes me like the bet even more with his 6.89 ERA and 1.55 WHIP. It's probably a tough life pitching in Coors Field all the time but hey I don't make the rules I just wager on them, Yankees to win today.
Pick: New York Yankees Run Line -1.5 (-140 on PointsBet)
**all bets are one unit unless specifically mentioned.
