MLB Best Bets and Betting Picks for August 6
What a weekend it has been in the MLB the last 2 days from pitching duels to offensive explosions we have seen it all! The Best Bets article is also in one heck of a stretch as I was a out away for Andrew Abbott from going the perfect 4-0 but 3-1 is still pretty darn good and the stretch from Friday on has me at 6-2 overall the last 48 hours! Let's keep this thing rolling with a trio of bets for this afternoon so get the action in early if you like the picks. We have a team run total, a player prop and a pitcher prop to select from so enjoy the article and have a great Sunday everyone, go make some cheddar!

MLB Best Bets for August 6
Kansas City Royals at Philadelphia Phillies
As these two teams head into the final game of their AL-NL interleague series it has been an impressive offensive showing from each team. There were 27 total runs through the opening pair of games and with Zack Greinke on the mound for Kansas City today the fireworks ought to continue! Greinke holds a 1-11 record this season for the Royals to go along with an ERA of 5.32, playing the Phillies who have an implied team total of 5.6 runs today is probably not going to go well for him. That makes the team total runs for the Phillies of an even 5 a really good wager and one I will be taking. I also want to stack on a player prop too because when runs start flowing I want to double down! Bryce Harper has been awesome against right handed pitching this season hitting .307 with an OPS of .823 to go along with 18 RBIs and 33 runs! We only need him to clear 1.5 total hits, runs and RBIs as well and Harper has done that in 4 of his last 5 games. Fire up the Phils this afternoon and let's see some runs!
Pick: Philadelphia Phillies Team Total Over 5 Runs (-130 on Bet365)
Pick: Bryce Harper Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-165 on DraftKings)
Arizona Diamondbacks at Minnesota Twins
I'm not really sure when the Diamondbacks are going to win another road game, perhaps tonight but I won't be betting on that. I am looking at specifically picking on the Twins as I have done most of the season when it comes to strikeout props because they can't stop swinging and missing at an amazing rate. They sit at 10.29 team strikeouts per game and they've already posted their lineup for this afternoon and it is loaded with whiffers so they should maintain that average no problem. Enter Zac Gallen who will be pitching for the Dbacks today and has over a strikeout per inning this season with 149 total over 142.2 innings pitched. His number sits at 6.5 for today and that's a fair line given his history but he has topped this number in 9 starts and will get an great chance to do it again against this lineup. I'll lay some money down this afternoon saying he goes over!
Pick: Zac Gallen Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-105 on FanDuel)
**all bets are one unit unless specifically mentioned.
