Welcome to Friday everyone, hope it was a productive week as we head into the weekend and the heart of August. This month has been a good one around the MLB as the trade deadline has come and gone and there are tons of playoff races heating up around the league! Last night was a good one on the betting side as Wander Franco's triple in the 9th inning put me in the green for the night so here's to hoping that can jump start the rest of the weekend's bets as I will be right here on this article Friday, Saturday and Sunday! As for today specifically there are tons of angles on this full slate but I zeroed in on a game total, hitter prop, pitching prop and plus odds Money Line for today's action. Enjoy your Friday, let's make some money!

MLB Best Bets for August 11

Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers

The Rockies are heading nowhere fast and the Dodgers are really rounding into form as we get into mid August for this NL West showdown. I must admit I have picked on the Rockies often this season but for good reason as their pitching is oh so bad! Austin Gomber will go today for Colorado and he is holding a 5.4 ERA with a 1.44 WHIP going against one of the best offenses in baseball. Surprisingly this is the first start for Gomber against the Dodgers this season but seeing as they average 5.64 runs per game, the 3rd highest rate in the MLB he is in trouble. On the other side Lance Lynn will start for the Dodgers and he has been awful this season on the mound with a 6.11 ERA and 1.41 WHIP, the strikeouts are good but the numbers overall are so bad. At this point I think you know what I am wagering on today in this game and its the over of 8.5 runs, which seems way too low for this game. Keep in mind the Dodgers have gone over in 61.1% of games this season, the most in the MLB and the projected run total in this game is 10.1 according to the model. Adding in a player prop too as Freddie Freeman is destroying left handed pitching this season hitting .355 with 12 home runs and 37 RBIs in 141 at bats, he should go over 1.5 total bases as he has done in 4 of his last 5 games.

Pick: Rockies & Dodgers Over 8.5 Runs (-110 on BetMGM)

Pick: Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 Total Bases (-130 on DraftKings)

Baltimore Orioles at Seattle Mariners

After a thrilling series against the Houston Astros the Orioles are packing their bags for the west coast tonight as they take on the Mariners. Each team is in the thick of the playoff race so we should get some great baseball but anytime the Mariners are in play I am eyeing up a strikeout prop against them! The Mariners strikeout 9.89 times per game this season which is the 2nd highest rate in the entire MLB and that should benefit Kyle Gibson tonight who will start for Baltimore. In his last 3 starts Gibson has totaled 19 strikeouts over 19 innings of work so if he can maintain that average then he should go over his prop line of 5.5 strikeouts tonight. It will likely be close but given the stats and trends of Gibson and the Mariners I have to lock in his over on strikeouts tonight.

Pick: Kyle Gibson Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-110 on DraftKings)

Chicago Cubs at Toronto Blue Jays

The Cubs are on a shortlist of the hottest teams in baseball right now as they've jumped into the NL playoff race out of no where! They have won 14 of their last 20 games and today get to face a Blue Jays team that is slumping a bit in recent days. They had a handful of trouble against the Guardians scoring just 7 runs over 4 games and against the Cubs who seems to hit in 5-6 runs a night they could be in trouble. They will benefit from playing at home and having Jose Berrios on the mound which is why they're the favorite tonight but I see value in the Cubs as underdogs as well as they are playing right now. Then there's Cody Bellinger who is hitting everything he sees in the heart of this lineup so give me Chicago to steal one on the road tonight at plus money!

Pick: Chicago Cubs Money Line (+130 on BetRivers)
