Sports betting is such a humbling profession, you spend moments riding the extreme highs and lows and yesterday I got my tail kicked in as all the bets were oh so close but that doesn't matter does it? Good thing about betting baseball though is everyday there are more games and angles to research and you get to have the memory of a goldfish. Not the usual big slate on this Thursday with just 8 games with a handful starting during the lunch time hours but still plenty of ways to win and I like the numbers I have dug up for today. Those include bets on a game total, team total and a player prop, all of which I feel very solid about today. Best of luck to everyone and I will see you back here tomorrow for some Friday MLB best bets!

MLB Best Bets for August 10

Toronto Blue Jays at Cleveland Guardians

It's the final game of this 4 game series this afternoon as the Blue Jays take on the Guardians. The opening 3 games were something to behold if you like pitching that dominates the game as each game hit the under and there were just 6 total runs scored in those 3 games. The series may end with a bang today though as Alek Manoah and Noah Syndergaard are starting on the mound for each team. Manoah has had a very difficult season with a 5.72 ERA and 1.74 WHIP and Syndergaard hasn't been any better with and ERA of 6.75. Because of these two starters I am looking at an over but just through the first 5 innings as each teams bullpens are very good. 4.5 is the total right now for that bet and I am willing to throw it down despite the lack of offense so far in this series.

Pick: Blue Jays & Guardians 1st 5 Innings Over 4.5 Runs (-135 on DraftKings)

St. Louis Cardinals at Tampa Bay Rays

Another series closing up today is the Cardinals and Rays and this one has been rather entertaining with back and forth play. The series is split but I have a good feeling about the home team tonight although they are juiced up at -185 on the Money Line so I will probably be fading that. Instead let's just bet on the entire Tampa Bay offense to get the job done as they have averaged 5.27 runs per game at home this season. They also have an implied run total of 5.16 tonight which fits in fine with their team run total line of an even 5. The Rays are a good play made even better going against the left hander for the Cardinals tonight in Matthew Liberatore. The St. Louis starter has seen better days with his 6.93 ERA and 1.78 WHIP and has allowed at least 4 earned runs in 3 of his last 4 starts. I am also going to stack a player prop on this as the Rays are in a good spot so let's throw in Wander Franco who is crushing lefties this season hitting .316 with a .895 OPS! The kid is on a roll outside of the matchups too as he has 10 hits over the last 4 games and 2 home runs in that time as well. A prop line of 2.5 hits/runs/RBIs is often intimidating but as hot as his bat is right now its a fair number and you'll get it at plus money!

Pick: Tampa Bay Rays Team Total Runs Over 5 (-115 on Caesars)

Pick: Wander Franco Over 2.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (+115 on DraftKings)

**all bets are one unit unless specifically mentioned.
