Best MLB Strikeout Props Today

Drew Rasmussen Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+123)

Rasmussen is 7-4 with a 2.78 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 97 innings, and he was lights out through June, posting an 0.82 ERA across five starts. His last time out was a rare clunker, five runs allowed in five innings at Houston, but that came in one of the sport's most hitter-friendly parks.

Tonight he gets the Yankees at home, and he has already blanked this exact lineup twice this season, including a six-inning, one-hit, seven-strikeout gem back in April. New York is ice cold right now, hitting .171 over its last 10 games and striking out at a 31.2 percent clip over its last 14. Take it.

Bryce Miller Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-144)

Miller has been one of the best arms in the American League when healthy, sitting at 4-2 with a 1.71 ERA and an AL-leading 12.4 K:BB ratio. His last start was a statement: seven innings, eight strikeouts, and a no-hit bid carried into the seventh in a 1-0 win over the Angels.

Tonight he travels to Miami, and while the Marlins are a low-strikeout team on the season at 20.7 percent against right-handers, Miller's swing-and-miss stuff has been good enough to miss bats against anyone lately. Lock it in.

David Peterson Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-150)

Peterson is 4-7 with a 6.75 ERA, and his last start was a disaster, 3.2 innings and 10 earned runs against the Cardinals before getting pulled early. That kind of quick hook is exactly the risk with this number.

Tonight he travels to Baltimore, and if he gets into trouble early again, he simply will not see enough hitters to build toward a real strikeout total. Get it in.

Jesus Luzardo Under 7.5 Strikeouts (-125)

Luzardo is 7-4 with a 3.75 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 103.1 innings, a 10.9 K/9 that ranks among the best marks in the league. His last start was efficient rather than overpowering, six innings and just one earned run against Kansas City.

Tonight he travels to Cincinnati, and this line sits above his season pace of strikeouts per start. The Reds have also trimmed their strikeout rate to 21.8 percent against lefties over their last 14 games, down from 24.4 percent on the season. Take the under.

Pitcher Strikeout Projections vs Betting Lines

Every strikeout prop on the board gets measured against season-long performance, recent form, and opponent tendencies before it ever makes this column. Betting lines move for a reason, and our job is to find where the market has not fully priced in a matchup edge. That is the foundation of every pick you see above.

Strikeout Props to Avoid Today

Reid Detmers vs Rangers

Detmers is 3-6 with a 4.13 ERA, and he has allowed five or more runs in two of his last three outings, including a five-run, five-inning loss to Boston his last time out. Back in May, he carved up this same Rangers lineup for a career-high 14 strikeouts, and that memory could tempt bettors into chasing the over again.

This number carries zero priced edge either way, over and under have hit at an even split over his last 10 outings, yet the under is still juiced to -145. Texas actually strikes out at a strong 25.1 percent clip against lefties on the season, but that rate has cooled to 21.1 percent over the last two weeks, right as Detmers has been bleeding runs. An inconsistent arm, a cooling opponent, and a squeezed price with no real lean. Leave it alone.
