When hunting for successful MLB stolen base picks today, targeting the right pitcher is half the battle. The following list is made up of the day’s starting pitchers who have allowed the most stolen bases this season.

How many times teams attempt to steal a base on a particular catcher is a strong indicator of who we expect to see doing the most running today. Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. Here are our top two MLB stolen base picks today for Wednesday, June 10:

Favorite Bets: 

Nasim Nunez, Washington Nationals (+290)

Giants lefty Robbie Ray has allowed the most stolen bases, and while their catcher, Daniel Susac, has been strong at throwing out runners, we are going to ride the Nunez wave until it breaks. At least this wave. The switch-hitting second baseman is posting a .327 wOBA against southpaws and has hit safely in each of his last four games with two stolen bases in that span. Ray has been weak against right-handed hitters, allowing them a .355 wOBA, so I am expecting Nunez to find his way on base and steal one too. 

Jarren Duran, Boston Red Sox (+362)

Rays righty Drew Rasmussen has also allowed a slate-high 13 stolen bases, and his catchers have a combined caught-stealing rate of 22.5-percent. The Red Sox aren’t a tremendously aggressive team on the bases, but we’ll invest in Duran, who tends to be one of the more aggressive guys once he gets on base. He’s got 11 steals on the year, and we’re banking on Rasmussen’s struggles against left-handed hitters. It’s a bit of a long shot, but for this slate in particular, it should be one of our better options.
