Time for us to dig up the best stolen base picks for today. While yesterday’s article missed with Randy Arozarena and Ronald Acuna picks to steal a base, the free pick we offered in the free Fantasy Alarm newsletter (which you can sign up for on the home page) hit quickly in the day as Elly De La Cruz swiped a bag nice and early in the game. Considering all the picks we mine, I’d say we’ve hit two days in a row and are looking to make it three. It’s a shorter slate here on Thursday, but I’ve got my eye on a few spots. Pitchers Most Vulnerable to Stolen Bases Today

When hunting for successful MLB stolen base picks today, targeting the right pitcher is half the battle. The following list is made up of the day’s starting pitchers who have allowed the most stolen bases this season.

Catchers Allowing the Most Stolen Bases

The final piece of the puzzle for finding the best stolen base predictions involves looking behind the dish at catcher pop times and throwing accuracy. How many times teams attempt to steal a base on a particular catcher is a strong indicator of who we expect to see doing the most running today. The following backstops have the lowest Caught Stealing% with a minimum of 10 SB attempts against them.

Best MLB Stolen Base Picks Today:

Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. We’ve got an interesting group of notable base-stealers at shorter odds, so here are our top two MLB stolen base picks today for Thursday, August 6:

Favorite Bets:

Pete Crow-Armstrong, Chicago Cubs (+256)

Let’s take a look at the new odds-on favorite for the NL MVP and use him for one of our picks today. PCA is facing Dylan Cease which is a tall order in unto itself, but while ease does a good job against everyone, he still has his struggles against lefthanded hitting. Meanwhile, PCA destroys right-handed pitching, posting a .396 wOBA against them, but, more importantly, he’s got 21 stolen bases to his credit against righties and that’s something we’ll lean into.

Bobby Witt, Kansas City Royals (+391)

He’s been back from injury for a couple of days and all looks good for Witt here against the Twins Bailey Ober. Not only does he have a .339 wOBA and 21 steals against righties this season, for those who like a little BvP data in their lives, Witt is batting .429 (12-for-28) in his career against Ober. Add to it the Twins catchers posting a combined caught-stealing rate of just 15.1-percent and we’ve got a real nice set-up for a stolen base tonight.
