We are now starting to wrap up the first month of the season and things are starting to normalize and take shape. Don't overreact too much if your studs are starting slow and don't overpay for the early season stars just yet, but we are now beginning to have a larger sample. You are not dropping guys like Chris Taylor quite yet. Remember when everyone was worried about about José Ramírez ? That was cute. Be patient.

What’s Happening:

Reportedly, Jung-Ho Kang has been granted a visa and will enter the United States. Kang has not played in the Majors because he was denied entry into the country after racking up three DUI’s in his home country of South Korea. He will head to extended spring training to get into game shape, but could be back with the team in the next month, but that is pure speculation as we have not seen him at all in a while. He has the ability to hit for power, but may struggle to find full-time at bats with Colin Moran now holding down third base.

Ronald Acuna hit his first Major League home run in today’s game versus the Reds. It was no cheap homer either as it landed in the second deck. If for some reason Acuna is still on the waiver wire in your league you need to go get him at any cost, but if you own him already, there will be no time better to sell as his perceived value is sky high. There is no shame and in holding either, but if you don’t have him, the price will be ridiculous if you try and trade for him now.

Quick Hits:

Fernando Rodney blew a save in today’s game versus the Yankees when he allowed a three-run bomb to Gary Sánchez . He has now allowed hits in each of his last four outings and it may not be long before Addison Reed takes over.

In the same game, Kyle Gibson was absolutely dealing. He allowed only one hit in six innings and struck out 10. Gibson previous two outings weren’t great, but he has continued to hold on the gains he made last year after changing his arm slot and position on the rubber. He should be owned in most leagues.

José Abreu has the flu and will miss Thursday’s game.

Kris Bryant is still out of the lineup for the Cubs after being hit in the head with a pitch. He may end up on the 7-Day DL if this continues to be an issue.

Carlos Martínez threw six innings, only allowing one run in a no-decision versus the Mets. He was facing ace Noah Syndergaard and both stifled the offense as the game eventually went into extras. Martinez is beginning to look like a guy ready to take a next step.

In that same game, Jeurys Familia blew a save. He has now blown three saves this season and could be in a bit of hot water as the team has a pretty good bullpen behind him.

Remember when people were worried about Joey Votto ? He has now homered in three straight games.
