Welcome to the Optimal Lineups for Wednesday's DFS MLB early slate.

With just four games on the slate, I will urge you to stay away from cash games and stick to the GPP tournaments here. With so few games and such a high cost for the top starters, you're going to see way too much overlap on player selection which is going to increase the paylines and make it much more difficult to cash. If you want to play cash games today, stick to the main slate. This morning slate should be about having some fun, finding ways to differentiate yourself from the herd and getting funky with your contrarian plays. As a result, I am only going to post examples of GPP tournament lineups.

While I didn't list Jeff Samardzija in the Playbook, I am thinking about putting him in play today. Obviously Verlander and Scherzer are the top guns, but you may be able to throw Shark in there for some salary relief on DK.
