Game #1: Team Liquid v Dignitas

Game Breakdown: This is another spot where I don’t see any reason for Team Liquid to lose this match. They have the better players in every role and when they play a traditional strategy, they are almost impossible to beat. When more diverse picks are introduced and they stretch their playstyle, we see some cracks in their armor. Hans sama (65 kills and 96 assists) should just be the focus for this team to win games. He and CoreJJ so consistently win lane that many League of Legends analysts consider them the best bottom lane duo in the West. Dignitas’ ADC, Neo, tends to be the most consistent damage output in the late game. He will have his hands full trying to get to a point where he is strong enough to make any sort of difference in this matchup.

Favorite Picks: Bjergsen (TL: $11,700/$7,800), Hans sama (TL: $11,700/$7,800), Santorin ($7,400), Team Liquid ($5,400)

Value Picks: Neo (DIG: $6,000), River (DIG: $5,400)

Cann’s Match Pick: Team Liquid

Game #2: Team Solomid v Counter Logic Gaming

Game Breakdown: Why Team Solomid is favored in this match escapes me completely. They won two games last weekend but we haven’t seen any indication that they can perform with any sort of regularity. Tactical, Team Solomid’s ADC, is forth in the LCS in kills (62) but doesn’t actually win in the laning phase. These kills come in the late game as TSM is just throwing themselves at objective fights. CLG has gotten a little better in setting up for objectives and rotating through the map. I think it is this cleaner approach to the game and the fact that TSM is so bad at draft that I believe CLG (driven by Luger) will come out on top on Saturday.

Favorite Picks: Tactical (TSM: $8,000), Spica (TSM: $7,000), Team Solomid ($4,600)

Value Picks: Luger (CLG: $9,900/$6,600), Palafox (CLG: $6,200),

Cann’s Match Pick: Counter Logic Gaming

Game #3: Cloud9 v 100 Thieves

Game Breakdown: You will need to make a choice for yourself on this match. It is about as much of a coinflip as you can find. 100 Thieves has a slower approach to the game, focusing on picking up early Heralds to take down towers. FBI and huhi will create advantages in the lane and transfer that into late-game power. Cloud9 takes a completely different approach. Summit and Fudge want to win their individual lanes and then throw a ton of resources into early objective fights. They are aggressive in following up on Blaber’s invades and then buy time for Berserker to scale into the late game. I can see both teams winning with their prescribed tendencies, so this will be decided through execution.

Favorite Picks: Fudge (C9: $11,400/$7,600), Summit (C9: $6,400), Berserker (C9: $7,200)

Value Picks: Ssumday (100: $5,800), Closer (100: $6,400), FBI (100: $7,000), 100 Thieves ($4,400)

Cann’s Match Pick: 100 Thieves

Game #4: Golden Guardians v Evil Geniuses

Game Breakdown: Two players that feel like the competitive edge for Evil Geniuses on Saturday. The first is the most obvious and it is the EG ADC, Danny. Danny leads the entire LCS in kills (79) and team kill share percentage (40%). If Danny has a strong showing, the Evil Geniuses will win. So how does EG ensure Danny can perform? Inspired needs to keep the GG jungler (Pridestalkr) in check. If Pridestalkr can get ahead in gold earned on an aggressive jungle pick, he can put a lot of pressure on Danny. Inspired will need to shadow Pridestalkr and look to take camps in the GG jungle frequently to keep his opponent behind. The jungle matchup will be a huge factor in what this game looks like in the later stages.

Favorite Picks: Danny (EG: $12,300), Impact (EG: $6,200), Vulcan (EG: $5,800)

Value Picks: Pridestalkr (GG: $6,000), Ablazeolive (GG: $6,400)

Cann’s Match Pick: Evil Geniuses

Game #5: Immortals v FlyQuest

Game Breakdown: There shouldn’t be too much variance here. The ADC role is the most influential position in the game currently and FlyQuest has such a clear edge here. This is so much more evident when you look at the disarray of Immortals and the fact that they continue to fluctuate between WildTurtle and Arrow as the starting ADC. Xerxe and POE will put a lot of pressure on toucouille in the middle lane and that could be a win condition for Immortals. I think the real angle for this team has to be attacking Kumo in the top lane through Revenge. Revenge has had huge performances where he is a huge carry threat but IMT rarely put him on picks where he can influence the map. This could be a great priority for this IMT squad to try and salvage some of the final games in Spring 2022.

Favorite Picks: Johnsun (FLY: $11,400/$), toucouille (FLY: $7,400), Josedeodo (FLY: $6,600)

Value Picks: Xerxe (IMT: $6,200), PowerOfEvil (IMT: $6,800), Revenge (IMT: $5,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: FlyQuest
