2022 Spring Split Playoffs

Semifinals Match #1

(-2000) T1 Esports v Kwangdong Freecs (+725)

(+165) Rare Atom v Bilibili Gaming (-220)

The LCK playoffs kicked off earlier this week with DWG securing their ticket to the next round with a win over Fredit BRION and KD Freecs picked their upset win over DRX. The fairy tale run for the Freecs unfortunately has led them to the buzzsaw that is T1 Esports. T1 went undefeated in the regular season and has preyed on the sloppy play of teams like KDF. The Saturday brings us our first LPL playoff match with Bilibili Gaming taking on Rare Atom. BLG has come to a mutual agreement with LPL legend, Uzi, to move forward with Doggo as the sole ADC. They face a tough opponent in Rare Atom who has been on a bit of a slide with two straight losses. Does the KDF Cinderella story continue? Does BLG make strides towards the double-knock stage or does Rare Atom stop their skid and beat one of the strongest teams in the LPL? Let’s dive in and break down this slate!

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Series #1: T1 Esports v Kwangdong Freecs

Game Breakdown: This series will not be close at all. I would imagine it will look a lot like the Misfits v Rogue series from Friday. T1 is just infinitely more skilled and polished with their individual play and team mechanics. Gumayusi/Keria won’t be exposed in the laning phase like DRX was a few days ago, which will limit the power that KDF’s ADC (Teddy) will have moving into the mid-game. The player matchup you have to watch out for will definitely be the jungle. The biggest snubbing for the All-Pro team was Oner not being named the best jungler in the LCK. He had the third-highest assists total (329) and was only second to two supports in that metric. He had a team kill participation rate of 70% all while helping ensure T1 had some of the best objective control in the League. T1 should be very easy locks to make it to the Spring finals for the LCK.

Favorite Picks: Faker (T1: $7,200), Gumayusi (T1: $11,400/$7,600), Keria (T1: $6,000), Oner (T1: $7,000)

Value Picks: Teddy (KDF: $7,200), FATE (KDF: $6,800)

Cann’s Match Pick: T1 Esports (3-0)

Series #2: Rare Atom v Bilibili Gaming

Game Breakdown: This game should be just as much of a lock for BLG as it is for T1 in the LCK match. BLG has the top three players in terms of kills (Breathe- 158, FoFo- 133, Doggo- 126) in this matchup and the best players from Rare Atom have serious trouble staying alive in fights. The ADC (iBoy) has 92 deaths and their jungler (Leyan) has 102 in their 36 games played. Individual skill will be the stronger determining factor in this matchup as BLG is not the strongest team in terms of macro play. Weiwei and Leyan will be relatively equal in their influence but the isolated advantages that both FoFo and Breathe bring to their solo lanes should be entirely too much for Rare Atom to handle.

Favorite Picks: Breathe (BLG: $6,600), Doggo (BLG: $11,700/$7,800), FoFo (BLG: $7,400), Bilibili Gaming ($5,000)

Value Picks: iBoy (RA: $10,800/$7,000), Strive (RA: $7,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Bilibili Gaming (3-1)
