The first match from the winner’s bracket went exactly as I described it would. Rogue outmatched the roster of Misfits and it wasn’t particularly close. As anticipated, the Misfits were able to pick up a single game but could never get into a real rhythm in the series. For Saturday’s match, throw everything out the window. The two squads of Fnatic and G2 Esports have a long and storied history. Power rankings don’t matter as these two teams face each other. Expect wild picks, crazy strategies, and this series going the distance!

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Captain

Favorite: Upset (FNC: $16,500) This is the best player competing in this series. Upset’s redemption arch from the 2021 World Championship has been one of my favorite things from this split. Upset picked up 80 kills and 102 assists. What is even more impressive? He has a 16.5 KDA, he just doesn’t die. In a series that will be wild and reckless, picking a near-lock for a safe player is crucial. The gap in the bottom lane will end up being the key factor in how the games closeout.  

Value Pick: Razork (FNC: $14,100) 

 

Captain

Favorite: Flakked (G2: $15,600) Admittedly, I am not wild about this pick. G2 has a weird tendency to have players rotate between games in terms of who carries. I picked the young ADC in this spot because of the power ADCs carry in the game right now. Seven of the top ten players in the LEC in terms of kills play the ADC role, and Flakked is among those players. His 5.0 KDA is solid and I like this kill share percentage (27.4%). He will be really quiet during laning phase but will begin to shine in the mid-game as he can blend in with the rest of his team. 

Value Pick: caPs (G2: $14,400) 


Flex:

Favorite: Humanoid (FNC: $10,600) Humanoid is comparable to Upset in his average FPPG but I faded him to the flex position because of his struggles with consistency. He also doesn’t have the highest kill numbers (54) and gets the majority of his fantasy points from assists (120) and creep score (+256 GD@ 10 min). Should have about 2 really stand-out games on Saturday but don’t be shocked when you also get the big whiffs as well. 

Value Pick: Hylissang (FNC: $7,600) 


Flex:

Favorite: BrokenBlade (G2: $8,200) This may be the sneakiest pick on the slate and one I would argue could make sense for your captain spot for G2. In a role that usually gets relegated to providing utility in fights or managing the side waves, BB is one kill behind his ADC (Flakked) and nearly has the same team kill participation rate (61%). One out of every five G2 first blood kills stem from BrokenBlade and a large percentage of those kills come from a 1v1 individual play rather than needing Jankos (G2 jungler) to come and support him in lane. I love this pick and how incredibly cheap it is.
