League of Legends European Championships

Lower Bracket Match #2 – April 1st, 2022 (Starts @ 12 PM ET)

(-125) G2 Esports v Team Vitality (-108)

Friday brings us the meeting of the newly-crowned superteam, Team Vitality, against the longstanding titans of the LEC, G2 Esports. The gauntlet through the lower bracket continues for Team Vitality, who pulled off their five-game series win over Excel Esports last weekend. There are tons of relationship connections between these two squads. Players like Perkz (VIT) and caPs (G2) have been teammates in the past and reached some of the highest levels of success that Europe has ever seen. The winner of this match will move on and face Misfits, which has to feel like a winnable match for both teams. Who moves on? Whose Cinderella story ends? Let’s dive in and discuss!

Series #1: G2 Esports v Team Vitality

Cann’s Pick: Team Vitality (3-2)

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Captain

Favorite: Flakked (G2: $16,200) There is something to be said about relying on the power of the ADC role when putting your lineups together. Flakked, who is a middle-of-the-road ADC in the LEC, ended the split 10th in total kills (68) with a kill share percentage of 27%. This isn’t the most impressive set of numbers, but at least we see him staying active throughout the match. This activity is important when pulling in strong point values throughout these longer series. In a one-match slate, you want to look for players who have higher ceilings in single-match production. This is a best of five series, which means we want to find players who are constantly picking up points – and Flakked does a good job picking up points in both wins and losses.

Value Pick: caPs (G2: $15,900)

Captain

Favorite: Perkz (VIT: $15,600) There aren’t too many players that hold the title of greatest player their region has ever seen. Faker can say that the LCK and Perkz stands alone for the LEC. Admittedly, his 2022 campaign hasn’t looked like he is the European G.O.A.T., but the last two games in the XL series show what he can do. On Corki and Orianna, he went a combined 6-2-13 and completely controlled the pace of both games. Team Vitality is going to need another champion-level performance out of the Croatian mid laner in hopes of continuing their gauntlet run.

Value Pick: Alphari (VIT: $12,300)

Flex:

Favorite: BrokenBlade (G2: $9,400) The top lane will be where all the action is in this series. Both Alphari (VIT) and G2’s BrokenBlade will get resources and attention in the top lane. BrokenBlade had the most kills among top laners (67), third-most assists (85), and a team kill share rate of over 27%. There really isn’t another top laner in the world who holds the standard of being both aggressive and productive quite like BB does for G2.

Value Pick: Jankos (G2: $8,400)

Flex:

Favorite: Carzzy (VIT: $10,200) I am not in love with this price but Carzzy does bring some really important traits to this matchup. The first thing he does is he allows Labrov to roam lanes. Carzzy has lower early game production numbers because he allows his support to leave lane early. What he gets as a trade-off is a supporting cast who is full of gold and able to peel for him effectively. Carzzy also ends up being one of the most over-leveled players (he has more experience than his lane opponent) because he does not have to split the experience in lane. He may have less gold but he gets a lot of his power in the mid-game from having more raw base stats as compared to the enemy ADC.

Value Pick: SelfMade (VIT: $8,600)
