(+280) Team WE v FunPlus Phoenix (-415)

(-1000) Edward Gaming v Anyone’s Legend (+550)

The LPL comes to us on Monday with a pair of mismatched series. Both EDG and FPX are heavy favorites and should win their matches pretty convincingly. FunPlus Phoenix need this series win to make a possible move into playoff contention while EDG is still hoping to stay within the top four of the LPL. Team WE is our worst team both on the slate and in the LPL so set expectations of them fairly low. If Anyone’s Legend was facing FPX, it could be seen as an interesting series but instead they get to face the reigning World Champions. Let’s dive in!

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Series #1:Team WE v FunPlus Phoenix

Game Breakdown: I want to believe that this will be an easy series for FPX but they seem incapable of making things easy for themselves. I have watched two series in a row now where FPX has just been incapable of wrapping up individual games. They will play with agency, gain smal leads, and lose by not playing out the end of a match correctly. Watch out for Care as a substitute in the mid laner gori. FPX have had to take a longer look at this lineup and find changes to get them on track for Spring playoffs. Until we see what Care can do, Lwx will be the safest carry for this squad and leaning on this bottom lane duo will be a safe route to take.

Favorite Picks: Lwx (FPX: $11,100/), Clid (FPX: $6,600), Hang (FPX: $5,600), FunPlus Phoenix ($5,200)

Value Picks: xiye (WE: $7,000), Biubiu (WE: $6,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: FunPlus Phoenix (2-0)

Series  #2: Edward Gaming v Anyone’s Legend

Game Breakdown: Anything less than two sub 35 minutes games here for EDG should be seen as a failure. Anyone’s Legend has shown over the course of 12 games played that they lack the ability to put it all together at the same time. Forge will have a standout performance in mid one game and then feed horribly the next. Betty will have matches where he controls team fights and then the next match you question whether or not AL has an ADC. Viper doesn’t have wild numbers but he is safe. In his 27 games played he only has 48 deaths to his 126 kills and 153 assists. He stays relevant in the mid game so he can carry in the late game. Jiejie (jungle) and xiaoxiang (top) will be the early game pressure for EDG. Jiejie is one of the junglers in the LPL who does a great job matching his pace to the needed playstyle of his team in a given situation. Too many times we see junglers who are just aggressive, play aggressively in a team composition that needs them to be passive or vice versa. Jiejie will do a good job keeping an even head and working through the lanes to win.

Favorite Picks: Viper (EDG: $11,400/), Scout (EDG: $11,100/), Jiejie (EDG: $7,000), Meiko (EDG: $6,000)

Value Picks: Betty (AL: $7,000), Forge (AL: $6,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: Edward Gaming (2-0)
