Welcome to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina to the Harbour Town Golf Links. This course is not known for its length sitting just a little over 7,100 yards but it does challenge these golfers in different ways. It features very narrow tree lined fairways and small contoured greens. This is a thinking man’s golf course in that you can’t just over power it. Players must know strategically when to attack for the birdie and when to play it safe for the par. An errant tee shot will force players to navigate through hundreds of live oaks and pines which weighs Strokes Gained: Off the Tee higher than on a normal week. While driving distance is nice, it isn’t vital to success on Harbour Town especially when you look through the list of previous winners.
This course can hurt you in a bunch of different ways which means that scrambling should be another top stat to target when building your lineups. Ball placement is vital for birdie making opportunities with these small defined greens. That puts Strokes Gained: Approach once again a top stat.
