CFB DFS QUARTERBACKS

Drake Maye (North Carolina Tar Heels) @ DUKE ($6.6K DK/$12.0K FD)

First of all, at $6.6K, Maye is a steal on DraftKings. He has thrown more TD passes (21) than anyone not named Will Rogers throughout the entire country. Maye’s 1,903 passing yards are also third-best among Power Five and he completes 70% of his throws. There are Heisman whispers in Chapel Hill, and they will get even louder after tonight with Maye playing in the highest game total of the night (67.5) with the highest team implied score (37.25) at Duke. Maye is a top play in all formats on DK due to his misprice but on FD he is the highest salaried QB and is more of a top GPP play unless you can find the value to make it work in Cash.

Holton Ahlers (East Carolina Pirates) vs. MEM ($5.9K DK/$10.1K FD)

We saw what Clayton Tune did to Memphis last week (36-57-366 with 3 TDs) and Ahlers could easily do the same thing. He is the AAC TD leader (16) and is averaging 303.3 yards thrown per game with back to back 41+ passing attempt games. Ahlers also has some huge games in career against the Tigers as he threw for 317 yards last season and in his freshman year, he smoked them for 449 yards and three touchdowns. Another huge game could be on the horizon for another near DK misprice.

Riley Leonard (Duke Blue Devils) vs. UNC ($5.8K DK/$10.0K FD)

UNC allowed Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke to throw for a career-high 496 yards last week and now get to face Leonard, who has been a very reliable QB, in their rivalry matchup. Leonard, a sophomore and in his first season as a full-time starter, has completed 65.9% of his passes (third in ACC) for 1,312 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also has some dual threat ability, rushing for 290 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry. This game may very well turn into a shootout with the highest total of the slate (67.5) and Leonard makes for a solid point per dollar value as a home underdog playing catch up.

Other Quarterbacks To Consider

Jayden Daniels- LSU Tigers ($7.1K DK/$8.5K FD) Top FD QB value; avg 75 yards on ground

Caleb Williams- USC Trojans ($9.9K DK/$10.3K FD)

Aidan O’Connell- Purdue Boilermakers ($5.8K DK/$9.2K FD) Fav GPP play- at home against NEB defense

Anthony Richardson- Florida Gators ($6.4K DK/$8.6K FD) Fav GPP play/FD Value

DJ Uiagalelei- Clemson Tigers ($7.6K DK/$10.7K FD)

Will Rogers- Mississippi State Bulldogs ($7.7K DK/$10.2K FD) 22 TDs on season- a chucker

Drew Pyne – Notre Dame Fighting Irish ($5.0K DK/$8.8K FD) My sneaky GPP play- kid has a 35.75 team total

CFB DFS RUNNING BACKS

Travis Dye (USC Trojans) @ UTAH ($7.7K DK/$9.2K FD)

Dye is the safest play at RB this week after taking 80% of the teams carries last week against Washington State (28) and now gets a Utah run defense in a big Pac-12 game that is allowing 136.5 yards per game and 4.3 YPA. He is off to an awesome start in his first year at USC carrying the ball 90 times for 571 yards and six touchdowns plus he has been effective in the passing game, catching 13 passes for 114 yards. Dye is also coming off a big boy performance against Washington State last week in which he recorded a season-high 149 rushing yards on 28 carries (2nd best of his career). Cash play on both sites.

Keaton Mitchell (East Carolina Pirates) vs. MEM ($6.4K DK/$7.5K FD)

Mitchell is a third year running back for the Pirates and after breakout season in 2021 (1,132 yards) he has rushed for 433 yards and three touchdowns through five games this season while still dealing with injuries. He out the USF game with an injury and returned last week against Tulane although getting limited work. Mitchel should be a full-go this week against Memphis and one of my favorite running plays with Rahjai Harris now out for the season.

Chris Rodriguez (Kentucky Wildcats) vs. MSST ($6.8K DK/$8.2K FD)

UK has to be happy to have Rodriguez back- the schools second all-time leader in rushing touchdowns (27), and third all-time in 100-yard rushing games (16). The team was struggling with a weak 2.4 yards per carry while Rodriguez was out but he is now back and touched the ball 22 times in his first game back and in the next game became the first player in UK history to record three games of 125 or more rushing yards against a common opponent (South Carolina). , He finished with 126 yards rushing in the second game and was the PFF highest-graded Power 5 running back in college football last week. He should get plenty of volume again this week as UK faces Mississippi State.

Devin Mockobee (Purdue Boilermakers) vs. NEB ($4.5K DK/$7.8K FD)

Purdue RB1 King Doerue will be a GTD as he has been dealing with a calf injury that has kept him out the last four games and if he does play, he will be limited. RB2 Dylan Downing has been ruled out with a foot injury suffered last week at Maryland, so that leaves Purdue to lean on Devin Mockobee as the feature back against Nebraska. Mockobee has a touchdown in three of his four games played and has scored double digit DK fantasy points in every game. If he touched the ball 15-20 times, we would have one of the better value pays of the slate.

Other Running Backs To Consider

Casey Filkins- Stanford Cardinal ($5.5K DK/$8.2K FD)

Tavion Thomas- Utah Utes ($7.3K DK/$7.5K FD) this is the week he hits 100 yards (since Week 1)

Will Shipley- Clemson Tigers ($6.7K DK/$8.5K FD) Fav GPP

Audric Estime- Notre Dame Fighting Irish ($5.6K DK/$8.1K FD)

Lawrence Toafili – Florida State Seminoles ($3.3K DK/$5.8K FD) Top RB punt especially if FSU is down a runner

Caleb Hood- North Carolina Tar Heels ($3K DK/$5.7K FD) Fav DK Value

Logan Diggs – Notre Dame Fighting Irish ($4.1K DK/$5.3K FD) B2B double digit carry games- GPP

Jaquez Moore- Duke Blue Devils ($3.3K DK/$5.5K FD) Favorite FD Value

CFB DFS WIDE RECEIVERS

Josh Downs (North Carolina Tar Heels) @ DUKE ($7.8K DK/$10.0K FD)

Josh Downs continues to score touchdowns coming into tonight’s trip to rival Duke. He now has five TD scores in four games this season, while his only game without a touchdown marked his season high with 120 yards receiving. Downs became the top target last season for Sam Howell and is doing the same for Drake May even though he has had to miss time because of injury. He leads UNC with 28 catches of 299 yards and will be heavily involved in what may the night’s biggest shootout against Duke.

Isaiah Winstead (East Carolina Pirates) vs. MEM ($5.8K DK/$8.6K FD)

Isaiah Winstead is a name most of you will know – especially if you have played MACtion week night DFS with us over the last couple of seasons.  He is a graduate transfer from Toledo and was just added to the 2022 Biletnikoff Watch List since he leads ECU in receptions (43) and yards (565). Heading into tonight’s game against Memphis, Winstead is among the top 15 nationally in receptions per game (7th/7.2), receiving yards (13th) and receiving yards per game (15th/94.2). He is my top overall receiver on both sites with a 30.1% target share and double-digit fantasy points every week this season.

Michael Mayer (Notre Dame Fighting Irish) vs. STAN ($5.6K DK/$8.8K FD)

Michael Mayer just seems to get better every game and his play has helped the Irish reel off three straight wins since starting 0-2. The 6’4” 265 lb. junior is special and is a matchup nightmare while leading the Irish in all major receiving categories with 33 receptions, 351 yards and five touchdown catches. He leads all FBS tight ends in receptions per game (6.6) while ranking second in receiving yards per game (70.2 yards) and touchdowns (5.0). In last weeks BYU win he broke the school mark for single-game receptions by a tight end with 11 catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns while also breaking Notre Dame’s career receptions record by a tight end. We can go on and on but don’t over think this and make sure that Mayer is in the majority of your cash lineups.

Antoine Green (North Carolina Tar Heels) @ DUKE ($3.5K DK/$9.0K FD)

Green is nearly a free square on DK at $3.5K if you want to compare it to his FD salary of $9.0K. He has now played three games after returning from a shoulder injury and is averaging 5.0 targets per game with a 3.3 reception and 86.3 receiving yard per game average. We have said it more than once in tonight’s Playbook – this game should shoot out and when you get that much of a pricing discrepancy between two sites it should really make you look at the money you will be saving in a high scoring game.

Other Wide Receivers To Consider

Charlies Jones- Purdue Boilermakers ($7.5K DK/$9.5K FD) Production has dropped the last two weeks but still alpha WR

Mario Williams- USC Trojans ($6.8K DK Coming off huge game (4/82/2) and if Addison doesn’t go or is limited Williams becomes a top play

Devaughn Vele- Utah Utes ($6.8K DK/$7.3K FD) 4 straight double-digit FP games- Fav GPP

Trey Palmer – Nebraska Cornhuskers ($7.0K DK/$8.4K FD) 28% target share and playing from behind

Payne Durham- Purdue Boilermakers ($5.0K DK/$7.2K FD) Charlie Jones pivot

Jordan Addison- USC Trojans ($8.4K DK/$9.4K FD) Too pricy especially with reports that he is banged up

Antonio Williams- Clemson Tigers ($3.8K DK/$5.6K FD) The Antoine Green pivot; 13 targets and 10 receptions over last 2 games- trending up

Kayshon Boutte- LSU Tigers ($4.7K DK/$5.7K FD) Volume may be back- coming off 6 catches/TD

Eli Pancol- Duke Blue Devils ($4.5K DK/$6.0K FD)

Dalton Kincaid- Utah Utes ($5.6K DK/$6.6K FD) The new Brant Kuithe
