College Football Week 2 Friday Betting Odds

  • 7:30 pm ET – Louisville at UCF (-5.5) – 61.5 O/U
  • 9 pm ET – Boise State (-17) at New Mexico – 44 O/U

CFB DFS Top Quarterbacks

John Rhys Plumlee – UCF ($8,900 DK / $12,000 FD)

Plumlee started the season on fire with 300+ passing yards, four pass TD, 86 rushing yards, and a rush TD last week. Even though the performance did come against South Carolina State, the Ole Miss transfer will be a weekly DFS stud while headlining the high-scoring UCF offense. On a short slate like this one, it's hard to fade Plumlee in cash lineups in a likely shootout. The Louisville defense struggled a ton against Syracuse in the opener and will probably do the same here.

Malik Cunningham – Louisville ($8,300 DK / $10,500 FD)

In cash games, it's likely optimal to roll out both QBs in the high-total matchup of the slate. Cunningham is coming off an ugly performance in Week 1 but he should bounce back against a softer defense. The Louisville dual-threat can put up 25-30 DFS points with ease when he's at his best doing it all for the offense. It's very unlikely he's as bad as last week for a second straight game.

Taylen Green – Boise State ($4,500 DK / $11,200 FD)

After Hank Bachmeier struggled last week, Green came in actually had the Boise State offense humming. He ran for 102 yards and two TDs while going 19-for-28 through the air. Now the starting QB job for Boise is apparently up for grabs and we may see Green start this game or enter again in relief. On DK, he's way too cheap and should be a lock for Super-Flex cash if announced as the starter. He's priced too high on FD, though, compared to Cunningham.

CFB DFS Top Running Backs

Isaiah Bowser – UCF ($6,500 DK / $10,000 FD)

As the lead RB on the projected highest-scoring team on the slate, Bowser should be popular in cash lineups. He saw 25 carries and scored twice last week with the UCF offense going off. Louisville's defense gave up 208 rushing yards last week and will likely get gashed again by Bowser, Johnny Richardson, and Plumlee.

Tiyon Evans – Louisville ($6,400 DK / $8,800 FD)

Despite Louisville only scoring seven points last week, Evans was one of the bright spots on offense. The Tennessee transfer averaged 6.8 ypc with 89 rushing yards and a TD on 13 carries. He'll benefit all year from opposing defenses respecting Malik Cunningham's threat to run. Evans may not be as popular as Bowser on this slate, but he's firmly in play for cash at affordable price points on both sites.

Ashton Jeanty – Boise State ($4,900 DK / $6,200 FD)

Although the backup to George Holani in Boise State's backfield, Jeanty may be the better DFS play this week. First off, Holani only nine total rushing yards on 13 carries while Jeanty out-gained him with nine less attempts. Plus, Jeanty added six receptions for 52 yards as QB Taylen Green dumped it off to him plenty. With Boise being big favorites, we may see Jeanty get more second-half playing time than Holani. It's a risky play, but worth a shot in GPPs.

Johnny Richardson – UCF ($4,700 DK / $6,500 FD)

With how high-scoring the UCF-Louisville game should be, we may see both Richardson and Bowser end up as great plays in the same backfield. Richardson is the change-of-pace and big-play threat compared to Bowser's between-the-tackles and early-down role. With his ability, though, Richardson can take one to the house any time he touches the ball. He had 59 rushing yards on just five carries in Week 1 and added a receiving score. We'll take that stat line all day at these cheap prices.

CFB DFS Top Wide Receivers

Javon Baker – UCF ($7,300 DK / $9,500 FD)

UCF's top receivers are very clearly Ryan O'Keefe and Javon Baker. When comparing to the two, though, Baker looks like he might be John Rhys Plumlee's favorite target this season. The Alabama transfer had five catches for 84 yards and a TD in the opener after reportedly wowing coaches and reporters in fall camp. He looks poised for a career resurgence after getting passed by at Bama.

Tyler Hudson – Louisville ($6,400 DK / $8,700 FD)

Hudson, like Tiyon Evans, was one of the lone positives to come from Louisville's horrendous Week 1 loss to Syracuse. He had eight catches for 102 yards and was clearly a top target for Malik Cunningham. We'll see if his heavy involvement translates for a second straight game, but it sure looks like Cunningham has a new favorite WR. He's more of a GPP play on this slate compared to the top UCF receivers.

Stefan Cobbs – Boise State ($5,300 DK / $7,700 FD)

Boise State's top wideout had four catches for 39 yards in the season opener but his stat line suffered due to the inconsistent QB play. Ideally this matchup against New Mexico will be much easier. At his best, Cobbs can smash his DK price that should be in the 6k range.

Kemore Gamble – UCF ($4,400 DK / $7,300 FD)

The UCF tight end could be popular on this slate for those chasing last week's stats. Even still, Gamble looks like he'll be very much involved in the high-scoring offense as one of Plumlee's top receiving targets this year. The Florida transfer caught three passes for 82 yards and a score in his UCF debut and should be a weekly mismatch from the tight end spot – especially if opposing defenses need to worry about all the other talent on this attack.

Latrell Caples – Boise State ($4,400 DK / $5,700 FD)

Caples started in the slot for Boise last week and he parlayed that into four catches and even a rushing attempt. Though he only put up 28 total yards, the overall touch volume is nice and makes him a value at these cheap prices. The uncertain QB situation could impact how many targets Caples sees whether it's Bachmeier or Green under center, though. If you want cheap exposure to Boise, this is a good option in cash.

Luke Wysong – New Mexico ($4,100 DK / $6,800 FD)

The price differential for Wysong on DK compared to FD makes him a clear value on the former site. We don't want to roster much of New Mexico's offense on this small slate, but Wysong could be that one-off. He had three catches for 51 yards, six rushed for 43 yards, and two total TDs in last week's opener. That heavy involvement and two scores right away are a very good sign for a guy that didn't find the end zone at all last year as a freshman. UNM isn't afraid to use Wysong as a rusher, which gives him a better DFS floor than most receivers on this slate.
