CFB DFS Week 10 Wednesday Top Plays

Jase Bauer - Central Michigan QB ($7.0K DK/$9.0K FD)

We have to pay attention tonight when the Chippewas are warming up but if Bauer gets the start he will be a top play of the slate. Long-time starter Daniel Richardson started 2022 as the No. 1 quarterback for CMU but was pulled in their loss to Bowling Green and Bauer finished the game behind center. Bauer is more of a dual threat QB as he ran the ball 16 times for 109 yards against the Falcons, leading the team in carries and yards on the ground. Bauer is also completing 66.7% of his passes (22/33) and has 269 yards with one touchdown and one pick while Richardson is connecting on just 56.4% of his throws and has been sacked 18 times this season. This is the game with the highest overall total and Northern Illinois is allowing 268.3 yards in the air per game.

Justin Lynch - Northern Illinois QB ($6.2K DK/$9.5K FD)

Let’s stay right with the NIU/CMU game which should be the highest scoring of the two per Vegas. Justin Lynch, like Bauer, is more of the dual-threat quarterback. Lynch is the younger brother of NIU legend Jordan Lynch and has only attempted 19 passes, completing ten of them, for 118 yards with no scores, turnovers, or sacks. On the ground he is third on the team with 170 yards and two touchdowns on 45 carries.

Sean Tyler - Western Michigan RB ($6.7K DK/$8.5K FD)

The Western Michigan Broncos ground game is averaging 123.5 yards per contest, and RB Sean Tyler now leads the way with 529 yards and four touchdowns. This was a two-man running back committee until leading rusher La’Darius Jefferson was suspended for a violation of team rules before the last game against Miami (OH). With Jefferson out of the lineup last week, Tyler led the ground game with 110 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.  Tyler was the speed to Jefferson’s short yardage game but now should get the bulk of the carries tonight with Abdus-Salaam now the RB2 but with little experience. Bowling Green allows 160.9 yards per game on the ground which is by far the worst on the slate making the new workhorse Tyler the top RB.

Lew Nichols III - Central Michigan RB ($7.0K DK/$9.0K FD)

Nichols III has missed the last two games, but all indications are that he will return tonight against NIU. He was supposed to lead one of the best ground attacks in the conference this season but CMU is totaling just 132.1 rushing yards per game (8th best in the MAC) and Nichols III has only surpassed the 100-yard mark once this season. This is a player that led the entire FBS in rushing last year but he has now missed the last two games after a rough start to the 2022 season.  He does have six touchdowns but he’s only averaging 3.6 yards per carry and his 469 yards are 12th in the MAC. If Nichols III is in that means he is healthy and hopefully ready to return to his 2021 form.

Carlos Carriere & Joel Wilson - Central Michigan ($6.1K & $5.7K DK/$7.7K DK & $8.5K FD)

No matter if it’s Richardson or Bauer at quarterback- they will be looking for wide receiver Carlos Carriere and tight end Joe Wilson as they face a bad Northern Illinois pass defense (268.3 yards allowed per game in the air).  Carriere and Wilson account for nearly half of the passing yards, touchdowns, and receptions on this CMU squad. Carriere has 448 yards and two scores on his 39 grabs, while Wilson has 41 catches for 412 yards and five TDs.

Also Consider:

  • Treyson Bourguet - Western Michigan QB (Cash/GPP Value) *if starting
  • Matt McDonald - Bowling Green QB (GPP)
  • Harrison Waylee - Northern Illinois (Cash/GPP)
  • Antario Brown - Northern Illinois (Cash/GPP)
  • Jaison Patterson - Bowling Green RB (GPP)
  • Corey Crooms – Western Michigan WR (Cash/GPP)
  • Cole Tucker - Northern Illinois WR (Cash/GPP)
  • Anthony Sambucci - Western Michigan WR (Cash/GPP Value) 25 of his 30 targets the last three games
  • Odieu Hiliare - Bowling Green WR (GPP)
