DFS CFB Top Plays Week 10 Friday

Michael Penix Jr. – Washington QB ($8600 DK / $12000 FD)

Penix is the clear QB1 on this three-game slate, despite a tough matchup on paper and rain in the forecast for this game. The Huskies QB has a DFS floor of about 20 points and a ceiling of 40-50 when he's on. Oregon State's pass defense is better than most, but Penix will have volume in this pass-centric Washington offense to anchor cash lineups. It's hard to fade him in cash, but you could look elsewhere in GPP.

Riley Leonard – Duke QB ($7800 DK / $11000 FD)

Considering the multiple QB injuries to monitor on this slate, the safe play is to put Leonard in as your Super-Flex with Penix Jr. and call it day. The Duke quarterback could possibly outscore Penix tonight too. Leonard has put up 30 DK or more in five of eight games and has 25 DK in two others. He brings some dual-threat rushing ability into the mix, like when he ran for 130 yards and TD two games ago or his three rush TDs last time out. This is an average BC defense that shouldn’t slow Leonard down much.

Rome Odunze – Washington WR ($8100 DK / $10200 FD)

Odunze is the top target for Penix and that's led to safe, consistent DFS floor in the pass-happy Washington attack. Odunze has at least six receptions in all but one game (back in Week 3) and he's put up 20+ DK points in five of seven contests. Expect plenty of targets once again and (hopefully) a TD or two in a cash stack with Penix. You can also roster McMillan to get full exposure to the Washington passing game.

Zay Flowers – Boston College WR ($6300 DK / $9000 FD)

Flowers is the best WR on this slate in terms of raw talent. The only problem is the poor Boston College offense around him that limits his ceiling for DFS. When Phil Jurkovec (or Emmett Morehead) force-feed him targets, Flowers can provide a solid floor even when BC is struggling to put up points. Despite the uncertain and poor QB situation, Flowers is always a strong play and he should bounce back from his dud performance last game. Outside of Odunze and McMillan, there aren't any WRs worth paying up for besides Flowers.

Damien Martinez – Oregon State RB ($3000 DK / $7800 FD)

Before we get into the player or matchup, Martinez is simply mispriced at the minimum on DK and is basically a free square for cash lineups. On FD, it's more of decision with a fair salary there. The Oregon State back has emerged recently as the team's best RB with back-to-back games with 100+ yards coming into this week. He's seen 16 and 22 carries in those contests while Deshaun Fenwick has seen a reduced workload while not being effective when he does get the rock. Washington presents a tough matchup, but Martinez might see the most volume of any RB on the slate.

DFS CFB Value Plays Week 10 Friday

Zion Turner – UConn QB ($7000 DK / $7500 FD)

Oregon State and Boston College have uncertain QB situations heading into tonight and we may see two guys under center for both teams. We’re definitely not playing the UMass starter, either. That leaves Turner as the cheapest QB that you can actually “trust” if you want to take a shot in cash or GPP. The UMass pass defense is actually decent on paper, but Turner has put up 10-15 DK in four straight games. It's not great, but it might be better than any other QB not named Penix or Leonard tonight.

Devontae Houston – UConn RB ($5400 DK / $4500 FD)

After missing two games due to an ankle injury, Houston could reportedly play on Friday night after practicing this week. It's obviously something to monitor, but he'd be a nice value on both sites if we get official word he's playing and (likely) starting. Houston ran for 100+ yards with 18 DK in the two games prior to his injury and those numbers are realistic with UConn being double-digit favorites over UMass tonight. If Houston can't go, then Victor Rosa would again be the lead back and is a value in all formats. By the way, for once, FD mispriced a player tonight as Houston would be a huge value if he indeed starts and gets a lead back workload.

Cameron Davis – Washington RB ($5100 DK / $8700 FD)

The Washington backfield is pretty split between Davis and Wayne Taulapapa in terms of workload per game. Davis, though, has been more effective running the ball while Taulapapa is the better pass-catcher. So, who you roster may depend on game script. If Washington has the lead, it may lean on Davis and the ground game more often. That may be the case anyway with rain in the forecast tonight. Davis has the TD equity with 10 rushing scores over seven games already.  Davis is also huge value on DK compared to Taulapapa – especially when you consider the latter is cheaper on FD.

Aaron Turner – UConn WR ($5300 DK / $6400 FD)

There really aren't many value WRs worth rostering in cash, so try to find cheap options at RB and pay up at receivers. If you need one, it's Turner at an affordable price point and decent floor. He's UConn's top receiver and has a proven, consistent connection with QB Zion Turner (no relation, but a nice coincidence). Even with Cam Ross and Keelan Marion expected back, Turner should still be plenty involved to return a cash floor.

Also Consider:

  • Jalen McMillan – Washington WR ($6700 DK / $8800 FD)
  • Jordan Waters – Duke RB ($4900 DK / $8300 FD) – good value on DK
  • Jalon Calhoun – Duke WR ($5500 DK /
  • Devin Culp – Washington WR ($3000 DK / $5300 FD) – Huskies’ tight end is a decent value on both sites
  • Silas Bolden – Oregon State WR ($4000 DK / $6800 FD) – GPP dart
