College Football Week 6 Friday CFB DFS Picks
Top CFB DFS Quarterbacks
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Will Howard | KSU | OKST | 9000 | 30.24 | 12000 | 29.27 |
| On this small slate, Will Howard is the clear top QB and should be nearly 100% rostered in cash. The Kansas State dual-threat has been excellent for DFS this season, averaging 268 passing yards and 2 pass TDs per game while also adding in five rush TDs. He has at least 23 DK in all four games thus far and should provide a safe floor here. KSU is favored by double-digits and the Ok St defense allowed 34 points and 348 passing yards to Iowa State last game. Don’t overthink Howard in cash. | ||||||
| Luke Altmyer | IL | NEB | 7200 | 18.95 | 8600 | 17.95 |
| Luke Altmyer is coming off a subpar performance last week vs Purdue, but he can bounce back at home here against a shaky Nebraska defense. Altmyer has 22+ DK in three of five games so far and one of those duds came against Penn State (understandable). He’s taken advantage of some favorable matchups this year, like his 303 passing yards and 24 DK vs FAU two weeks ago or his 31 DK vs Kansas back in Week 2. The Nebraska defense gave up plenty of yards and points in its two toughest matchups so far vs Michigan and Colorado. On this small slate, Altmyer should be a popular cash Super-Flex. | ||||||
| Alan Bowman | OKST | KSU | 6800 | 7.83 | 7800 | 9.44 |
| Oklahoma State had been rotating in three different QBs, but it looks like Alan Bowman has won the starting job now. Bowman was the Cowboys’ only quarterback last game vs Iowa State with the team starting up Big 12 play and reports say that he’s the starter this week. With a full snap share last game, Bowman had 278 passing yards on 48 attempts, 2 pass TDs, and one rushing score with 23 DK. He’s definitely a risky play because we could see either Rangel or Gundy relieve him if he struggles. Still, the K-State pass defense allowed both UCF and Missouri to have success through the air in its last two games. The GPP upside is there on a small slate when Bowman could put up 25+ DK. | ||||||
| Heinrich Haarberg | NEB | IL | 5900 | 15.66 | 10000 | 14.66 |
| Nebraska’s QB situation is definitely one to monitor in warmups. Jeff Sims is dealing with an ankle injury and he sat out last week. In Week 4 after Sims exited early, Henrich Haarberg stepped in and put up 32 DK with a whopping 157 rushing yards and a rushing score on 19 credited carries. The week prior, Haarberg had 98 rushing yards and a TD on 21 carries with 29 DK in relief of Sims. We can throw out last week’s dud vs Michigan, by the way. Against a shaky Illinois defense that struggles against the run, Haarberg brings a ton of upside with his rushing ability. He’s priced up on FD, but it’s a clear value on DK if we get official word that he’s starting over Sims. | ||||||
Top CFB DFS Running Backs
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| DJ Giddens | KSU | OKST | 6100 | 23.75 | 9500 | 23.40 |
| Giddens is coming off a massive performance last game vs UCF with 200+ rushing yards and 4 rush TDs, eight catches for 86 yards, and a whopping 64 DK points. Geez. Box score watchers will likely plug in Giddens right away, and it’s hard to fade him on this small slate without any clear top RBs. Just know that Treshaun Ward is expected back after sitting out last game, which led to Giddens’ large workload and stat line. Still, both Giddens and Ward can put up numbers in a Kansas State offense that leans on the ground game. You can likely roster both to get all of the production too. | ||||||
| Treshaun Ward | KSU | OKST | 5900 | 15.77 | 9000 | 13.95 |
| After sitting out last game with an undisclosed injury, Treshaun Ward is expected back as he’s been a “full go” in practice. The Kansas State backfield was previously split with both Ward and DJ Giddens getting double-digit touches and both being viable DFS plays in a run-focused offense. We’ll likely see them evenly split the work again, but there is a chance Giddens gets the hot hand treatment with Ward returning from injury. Consider Ward a GPP play, but he’s certainly in play for cash on this small slate without many trustworthy backs. Before the injury, Ward had 15 DK in all three games. | ||||||
| Anthony Grant | NEB | IL | 5400 | 10.15 | 8000 | 8.77 |
| Illinois presents the best rushing matchup on this small slate. The Illini are allowing 179.6 rush yards per game (111th in FBS) and has given up big games to multiple opposing lead backs. Enter Anthony Grant, who’s now the main guy in Nebraska’s backfield with Gabe Ervin and Rahmir Johnson both out for the year. Two weeks ago, we saw Grant get 22 carries for 135 yards and a TD with 23 DK. That stat line is something we can expect this week in a soft matchup with Grant likely getting workhorse volume. He’s a clear value on this short slate. | ||||||
| Reggie Love III | IL | NEB | 4600 | 9.98 | 7200 | 9.35 |
| Reggie Love missed last week with an ankle injury, but he might be back for this game. He’s reportedly back at practice, which is a good sign that he could play. Before he got hurt, Love was Illinois’ top back while also splitting carries with Josh McCray. We could see a split again this week, especially with Love returning from injury, but he’s one of the only viable cheap RBs on this small Friday night slate. Love is averaging 5.5 ypc and had double-digit DK points in his past two games. The Nebraska rush defense is statistically good, but it also just gave up 249 rushing yards and 3 rush TDs to Michigan last week. Consider him a GPP play. | ||||||
Top CFB DFS Wide Receivers
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Phillip Brooks | KSU | OKST | 6500 | 16.25 | 9200 | 15.33 |
| Phillip Brooks is Kansas State’s clear top receiver and the safest high-priced WR on this slate. Brooks has at least five catches in every game so far and is Howard’s favorite target when KSU does throw it. Though the offense does lean heavily on the ground game, this matchup could result in a bigger stat line from Brooks. The Ok St defense allowed 348 passing yards and 3 pass TDs to Iowa State last game in its toughest matchup. | ||||||
| Isaiah Williams | IL | NEB | 6400 | 16.42 | 8400 | 12.22 |
| Isaiah Williams is the clear-cut top receiver in the Illinois passing game. His 30 receptions and 446 yards lead the team by a sizable margin through five games. He also has at least five catches in every game and is coming off back-to-back 100+ yard performances. The cash floor is safe for Williams and gets to face a shaky Nebraska pass defense now. It’s him and Phillip Brooks as the top two cash WRs to lock in. | ||||||
| De'Zhaun Stribling | OKST | KSU | 5600 | 10.28 | 6900 | 8.10 |
UPDATE: Stribling is reportedly out tonight due to injury. Give a boost to other Ok St receivers now. With Alan Bowman under center last game, De’Zhaun Stribling led the team with nine targets. He only caught three of them for 60 yards, but the larger target share is encouraging with Bowman expected to be the full starter for this week. Stribling is a decent value in GPP or cash lineups if he and Bowman can connect enough. The Ok St offense should have more success through the air than on the ground in this matchup vs Kansas State Plus, the Cowboys will likely be playing from behind and passing more. | ||||||
| Ben Sinnott | KSU | OKST | 5400 | 13.92 | 7000 | 10.73 |
| Outside of Phillip Brooks, it’s Ben Sinnott who’s Kansas State’s next-best pass-catcher. The tight end leads the team in receiving yards so far with 247, and he has five catches in three of four games. Sinnott should provide a solid cash floor with his receiving production and large target share in the K-State passing attack. As mentioned earlier, the Ok St defense got torched through the air last game by a subpar Iowa State offense. The price tags are fair and give us a cheaper avenue to the Wildcats. | ||||||
| Billy Kemp IV | NEB | IL | 4900 | 9.92 | 6500 | 8.22 |
| Nebraska’s passing attack leaves a lot to be desired, but Billy Kemp is the top target when they do go to the air. His 17 receptions and 193 yards both lead the team so far and he has double-digit DK points in four straight games. Even with backup Heinrich Haarberg under center in the last few games, Kemp has done enough to return value. He’s a definite value WR on this small slate without many trustworthy plays at our disposal. Overall, he’s the best Nebraska pass-catcher to consider. | ||||||
| Jaden Bray | OKST | KSU | 4700 | 9.5 | 6000 | 6.80 |
| There aren’t a ton of trustworthy values on this small slate, but Jaden Bray can actually a provide solid cash floor. He has at least three catches and 40+ receiving yards in every game so far while leading Ok St in receptions and yards this season. With Alan Bowman at QB last game, Bray had four catches for 55 yards. That’s a decent baseline with upside for more if he finds the end zone – something he’s yet to do this year. Plus, the game flow and matchup should result in more passing attempts for the Cowboys offense. | ||||||
| Joshua Fleeks | NEB | IL | 3900 | 8 | 5100 | 7.50 |
| Joshua Fleeks is listed at WR for DFS, but he’s moved over to running back for Nebraska. With Gabe Ervin and Rahmir Johnson both out for the season, Fleeks is now listed as the backup RB to Anthony Grant on the depth chart. Grant is still the guy, but there’s upside in playing Fleeks as a dirt-cheap GPP flier on this small slate. He just caught a 74-yard TD last week vs Nebraska and could earn more snaps and touches moving forward. The Illinois rush defense has gotten torched this year, so Fleeks can return value if he gets 5-10 touches. | ||||||
| Blaine Green | OKST | KSU | 3100 | 7.75 | 4200 | 8.80 |
| Alright, here’s your dirt cheap value of the slate. Blaine Green was previously barely involved in the Oklahoma State offense until last game. He had a team-high six catches for 58 yards and it coincided with Alan Bowman at QB the whole time. That’s a good sign that Bowman likes targeting Green for shorter completions and it could provide a solid PPR floor. Either way, Green doesn’t need to do much at his cheap price tags to return value. At the very least, we know Ok St should be passing more while trailing Kansas State here. | ||||||
