QUARTERBACKS

Jayden Daniels - LSU vs. Arkansas ($9.5K DK/11.6 FD)
After a Week 1 loss to Florida State, Jayden Daniels has rebounded nicely and has gone on to put up two monster performances. In a blowout over Grambling State, he racked up five touchdowns and for an encore he put up his best game of the year, completing 30-of-34 passes for 361 yards and two touchdowns against Mississippi State. He also ran for 64 yards and two more touchdowns in the SEC opener. Averaging 34.6 DK points per game Daniels is far and away the top overall play of the slate against Arkansas.

Cameron Ward - Washington State vs. Oregon State ($8.4K DK/10.6 FD)
Cameron Ward is the Washington State’s offense this season. Ward has completed 72% of his passes for 990 yards, nine touchdowns and no interceptions in a pass-heavy offense that is tossing for a Pac-12 third best 398.6 yards per game and ninth best 136.6 rushing yards per game. The Cougars’ leading rusher at 95 yards and two touchdowns Ward has now scored 39+ DK points in two of his three games and gets a home matchup in what Vegas believes will be the highest scoring game of the slate.

Phil Jurkovec- Pittsburgh vs. North Carolina ($6.1K DK/7.4K FD)
Call me crazy but Phil Jurkovec is my sneak value of the quarterback position tonight. The Boston College transfer has not been good but neither has the entire Pitt offense. In two games against Power Five opponents, Jurkovec has completed 18-of-52 pass attempts (34.6%) for 260 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. That is not good enough, but I can’t see Jurkovec being any worse than he’s been over the first two weeks. This is a super talented player that put up numbers at Boston College and made them a better program. Especially after he threw for 2,568 yards and 17 touchdowns in an abbreviated, 11-game season in 2020. Reunited with Offensive Coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr, Jurko gets to face a UNC defense that is allowing 253.7 yards per game in the air in what should be his “get right” game. If you want a low owned GPP flyer- take a shot at Phil Jurkovec and Pitt.

Other Top Quarterbacks:
Drake Maye, North Carolina ($9.8K DK/11.0K FD)

The GPP-pivot off of Daniels. Maye is coming off a 414 yard and two score game against Minnesota as the Heisman talk heats up.

Quinn Ewers, Texas ($7.5K DK/10.1K FD)

Slow starts against Rice and Wyoming but Ewers showed what he could do by picking apart a Nick Saban defense for 349 air yards and three touchdowns.

KJ Jefferson, Arkansas ($7.1K DK/7.5K FD)

Only averaging 20.4 DK fantasy points but Jefferson will see a negative game script and playing catch up with his arm and legs.

Timmy McClain, Central Florida ($7.2K DK/7.2K FD)

Filling in for the injured John Rhys Plumlee, McClain threw for 321 yards and a couple of touchdowns in his first UCF start. UCF also leads the nation in total offense.

RUNNING BACKS

Damien Martinez- Oregon State @ Washington State ($6.7K DK/8.4K )
Damien Martinez is one heck of a running back. The headliner of the Oregon State offense may be the best runner in the Pac-12 and one of the best rushers in the entire nation. The Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of The Year and the All-Conference first teamer tallied a mark of six straight games of 100+ yards on the ground to end the regular season last year and he has started the 2023 season right where he left off with three straight 100+ games.  He is a workhorse and really hasn’t broken out for that monster game yet but there is a good chance it comes tonight against Washington State. Damien Martinez is your top pay up back of the slate.

DJ Giddens- Kansas State vs. UCF ($5.2K DK/8.0K FD)
Kansas State quarterback Will Howard is questionable and starting running back Treshaun Ward is out for tonight’s UCF game. DJ Giddens should now receive a much bigger role in the Big-12 season opener and he already has picked up a team-best 216 rushing yards (72 per game) over three games. Now is the time to unleash Deuce Vaughn’s backup- a rising star with a punishing running style who is not afraid of contact. DJ Giddens is one of the top point per dollar plays of the slate.

Jonathon Brooks- Texas @ Baylor ($5.9K DK/8.6K FD)
Jonathon Brooks is another power runner who served behind a star last year- Doak Walker Award winner Bijan Robinson. The change of pace back could be the guy the Longhorns need to run the table through the Big 12 and he may just turn into a bell cow with CJ Baxter still hurting with a foot injury. Brooks just ran over the Wyoming defensive front last week enroute to a career high 185 yards on the ground and with this week’s opponent Baylor allowing over 170 rushing yard per game we could easily see another 100+ yard performance from the Longhorns third year back.

Rodney Hammond Jr. - Pittsburgh vs. North Carolina ($5.1K DK/6.0K FD)
Rodney Hammond has made noise during his NCAA career, even while sitting behind eventual fifth-round pick Isreal Abanikanda. In three games this season though, Hammond has carried the ball only 25 times for 95 yards, which doesn’t even place him among the top 25 rushers in the ACC. This is the same player that carried 28 times against Syracuse and 25 in the Sun Bowl victory against UCLA. It all may change tonight, though, as coach Pat Narduzzi told reporters that they are going to put a load on Hammond and let him loose. He came out of training banged up, but reports are that Hammond is now the healthiest that he has been since last year. Rodney Hammond Jr is one of the favorite GPP plays at the running back position tonight.

Other Top Running Backs:

Audric Estime, Notre Dame ($7.5K DK/9.1K FD) - The pay up GPP pivot from Damien Martinez. This is a tough matchup against Ohio State, but Estime has been electric while averaging 25.4 DK fantasy points per game.

Omarion Hampton- North Carolina ($5.5K DK/9.8K FD) – Just two weeks ago Hampton amassed 234 yards on 26 carries – good for nine yards per carry – and three touchdowns.

Johnny Richardson- Central Florida ($4.6K DK)- UCF leads the nation in total offense and Richardson will get some run today as he touches the ball at least 10 times a game.

WIDE RECEIVER

Malik Nabers- LSU vs. Arkansas ($8.0K DK/10.5K FD)

LSU Z-receiver Malik Nabers (6-0, 200) and his explosive route-running ability broke out against Mississippi State last week bringing in 13 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns. The 13 receptions and 239 yards were both career-highs and he tied the LSU record for most receptions in a half. Nabers is now the current WR2 in the draft behind Marvin Harrison Jr in the 2024 draft and after this breakout game he is the top overall receiver on the slate against a mediocre Arkansas defense.

Lincoln Victor- Washington State vs. Oregon State ($5.1K DK/9.7K FD)

Lincoln Victor, the biggest Washington State breakout player this season had yet another huge game against Northern Colorado, but it could have been even bigger. The receiver finished the game with six receptions for 119 yards and two receiving TDs and he also dropped a wide-open touchdown as the ball hit him right in the hands.\ and fell to the endzone turf. The slot receiver is a total DK misprice as he has 32 targets through three games and averaging 27.9 fantasy points.

Nate McCollum- North Carolina @ Pittsburgh ($6.2K DK/8.0K FD)

Has Drake Maye found his new Josh Downs? Georgia Tech transfer Nate McCollum led the Tar Heels offense with 15 receptions for 165 yards and a touchdown in UNC's 31-13 win over Minnesota last week. In his Tar Heel debut, McCollum saw 20 targets and put together over 100 receiving yards and a 46-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter alone. His 15 catches were one away from the Tar Heel single-game record and now he gets an even better matchup against Pitt.

Xavier Worthy- Texas @Baylor ($6.5K DK/8.5K FD)
Xavier Worthy is off to his best three-game start as a Longhorn. One quarter of the way through the season, Worthy has been targeted 25 times. He has 16 catches for 221 yards and two scores which is only 38 yards short of becoming the 11th Texas receiver with over 2000 career receiving yards. Baylor has already allowed 10 passing plays of 25+ yards or more this season and got ripped apart by Texas State quarterback TJ Finley in the season opener. Finley is a similar quarterback to Texas’ Quin Ewers making Worthy and teammate Adonai Mitchell both fantastic plays tonight.

Ja’Tavion Sanders- Texas @Baylor ($4.0K DK/7.4K FD)

Week after week Ja’Tavion Sanders is a DraftKings misprice. He may not have caught a pass last week, but I doubt the five-star recruit will get shutout again. The First Team All-Big 12 tight end had 54 catches last year, the most by a tight end in a single season in Longhorn history. He only has seven receptions on 16 targets this year but Sanders is just too good to keep down for very long.

Other Top Wide Receivers:

Brian Thomas, LSU ($7.2K DK/8.7K FD)- While Malik Nabers is getting all the attention do not forget Thomas who led LSU in targets through the first two weeks. Brian Thomas could easily end up as the top receiver of the slate.

Andrew Armstrong, Arkansas ($5.8K DK/7.3K FD)- Armstrong caught all nine passes last week against BYU for 98 yards. He is now the WR1 and should see plenty of targets as the Razorbacks should be playing from behind.

Josh Kelly, Washington State ($5.4K DK/7.5K FD)- Kelly and Kyle Williams are both firmly in play tonight and can pair up one of them with Cam Ward and Lincoln Victor in a stack. Kelly is averaging 14.3 DK points.

Kobe Hudson. Central Florida ($5.1K DK/6.6K FD)- Hudson comes in with a 21.8 YPC average and huge upside in a GPP stack with Timmy McClain. Kansas State has allowed four receivers to score double-digit fantasy points against them this season.

Carlos Hernandez, Washington State ($3.0K DK/5.8K FD)- The true freshman is getting action now out of  the slot with DT Sheffield gone. The coaching staff loves him and at $3K is a bargain in the Air Raid offense.
