CFB DFS Quarterbacks Week 14

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Drake MayeUNCCLEM850033.91170031.81
A matchup against Clemson is tougher than we’d like, but Maye is still a top QB play this week. Even though he’s coming off a couple of down games to end the season, the UNC dual-threat has been as consistent as it gets all season and looked like a darkhorse for the Heisman at one point. The Clemson pass defense is actually susceptible to a poor game at times and Spencer Rattler just had 360 yards and two TDs last week in this matchup. Maye’s DFS floor is the best on this slate and he should be popular in cash.
Max DugganTCUKSU810026.111070023.45
If you’re not rolling with Drake Maye, then Duggan is your top cash QB. He struggled a little bit in the final four weeks of the regular season, but the floor for 25 DK or more is usually there while quarterbacking the high-scoring and explosive TCU offense. Duggan put up 24 DK with three pass TDs against Kansas State earlier this season, which is actually around his floor. This is one of the few high-total games on the slate and Duggan should do plenty to anchor cash lineups.
John Rhys PlumleeUCFTUL770028.421100025.78
Plumlee is a huge wild card on this slate. On the one hand, the UCF dual-threat has the upside to be the top overall scorer with his rushing ability alone – like when he ran for 176 yards and two TDs against Tulane a few weeks ago. However, he’s dealing with a hamstring injury and presents a ton of risk if he’s out of the game early. UCF turned to backup Mikey Keene in the second half last week with Plumlee leaving early (even though he still put up 35 DK beforehand). The boom-or-bust factor puts him in GPP territory.
DJ UiagaleleiCLEMUNC730023.361050022.73
On paper, a matchup against North Carolina’s bad pass defense is always one we like to target for DFS. That puts Uiagalelei in play right away with plenty of upside because of this favorable matchup. Still, he’s a GPP-only play because there is a real chance Clemson benches him for Cade Klubnik at some point. Plus, Uiagalelei struggled multiple times in the final stretch of the season.
Taylen GreenBSUFRES660023.66990022.54
Green is at a really solid price point for how well he’s playing in Boise State’s offense. The dual-threat has at least 20 DK in four of the last five games with a perfect 10:0 TD:INT ratio and four rush TDs over that span. He’ll benefit from playing at home in Boise for this conference title game, where he’s averaging 25 DK per game this season. Green may go overlooked on this slate, but he’s a good Super-Flex play with a cash floor and GPP upside.
Will HowardKSUTCU630022.951060022.75
Howard is slated to start again for Kansas State despite Adrian Martinez apparently being healthy to play. Howard has been great for K-State since taking over as the starter and he’s set up to be a good DFS option as a Super-Flex in this high-scoring matchup with TCU. He had 25 DK against TCU earlier this season and will be good for 20-30 DFS points again this week. The price discount on DK is really nice for Howard.

Also Consider:

  • Michael Pratt – Tulane (Cash)
  • CJ Harris – Ohio (GPP)

CFB DFS Running Backs Week 14

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
George HolaniBSUFRES760021.66880017.85
Holani is a bit too expensive on DK, but he’s a good option on FD while being cheaper than most of the other top RBs on the slate. The Boise State lead back had 157 rushing yards and 26 DK against Fresno State earlier this season and should have another big game in this rematch. Holani has been good for 20 DK or more on a weekly basis in his heavy volume role and that won’t change against an average Fresno rush defense. Stick to GPPs on DK but he's a solid FD cash option.
Deuce VaughnKSUTCU720023.691000020.27
Vaughn will be the popular cash pay-up at RB in a high-total matchup with TCU. He’s been a stud all season and ended the year hot with at least 28 DK in four of the last five contests and 32+ DK in three of those. He went for 22 DK in the first matchup with TCU despite leaving with an injury for part of the game. We know Vaughn will get the volume as both a rusher and pass-catcher and he’ll anchor our cash lineups against a below-average rush defense.
Will ShipleyCLEMUNC680021.31910018.64
Shipley hasn’t gotten the national recognition of other top RBs, but he’s quietly put together a 1,000-yard season with 14 TDs. In this high-scoring matchup against North Carolina’s poor defense, Shipley makes for a great play in all formats. The floor is there with his consistent workload and TD production, but there’s upside for 25-30 DFS points or more in this matchup. He's at a great price point on both sites.
Kendre MillerTCUKSU660022.38950020.57
Miller keeps getting it done for TCU. He’s now scored a TD in every game this season with 16 scores on the year and 1,260 rushing yards across 12 games. He’s been consistently pumping out 20+ DK performances, including his massive 33 DK effort against Kansas State earlier this season. Miller had 153 rushing yards and two TDs on 29 carries in that one. Expect another good game for Miller in a high-total Big 12 matchup and he should be popular in cash lineups.
Donovan EdwardsMICHPUR640017.83900015.94
Edwards had a massive game last week vs. Ohio State with Blake Corum sidelined. He put up 216 rushing yards, two TDs, and 39 DK on 22 carries while operating in a bell-cow role. With Corum definitely out with season-ending knee surgery, Edwards will presumably be Michigan’s lead back again and another big stat line is possible. However, there is a real risk that the Wolverines limit his playing time and workload with the Playoff coming up. It’s tough to fully trust him in cash, but the ceiling is clearly there.
Kimani VidalTROYC-C570016.53850015.74
Vidal has gotten some huge workloads with massive performances in the last two games. He went for 208 yards, four TDs, and 48 DK on 33 carries last week and had 242 yards, two TDs, and 39 DK on 29 carries the game prior. Another stat line like those would make him a massive bargain on this slate. Coastal has an average rush defense and Vidal could easily have 100+ yards and 20+ DFS points with Troy favored in its home stadium.

Also Consider:

  • Sieh Bangura – Ohio (Cash)
  • Tyjae Spears – Tulane (GPP)
  • RJ Harvey – UCF (Cash/GPP)
  • Micah Kelly – Toledo (GPP)

CFB DFS Wide Receivers Week 14

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Josh DownsUNCCLEM760025.69970020.04
If you can fit him in, then Downs is the clear top WR to get into cash lineups. North Carolina’s stud wideout is coming off two down games, but he should bounce back along with Drake Maye this week. As mentioned above, this matchup vs. Clemson is tough at first glance but UNC can have success through the air. Don’t be surprised if Downs has one of those 30-40 DFS performances.
Charlie JonesPURMICH740025.74850018.42
Michigan is a tough matchup, but there’s a path for Jones to still get his DFS points, catches, and yards even if Purdue struggles to put up points. He had 24 DK vs. Iowa despite Purdue scoring only three points. We know he’ll get the targets as the Boilermakers’ clear-cut top receiver, and we could see Jones do his thing with Michigan potentially resting starters and looking ahead to the Playoff.
Quentin JohnstonTCUKSU650016.07880014.11
Johnston hasn’t lived up to his lofty price tags every game, but he always has the GPP upside to break the slate and dominate opposing secondaries. He sat out last week with an ankle injury but is apparently back to full strength in practice and ready to go for this Big 12 title game. People may avoid because of the injury, but the ceiling is there for him to be a top overall scorer on the slate in a high-scoring matchup.
Antonio WilliamsCLEMUNC570010.3675008.15
Williams gets a bump up with Beaux Collins out again. He had 10 catches for 83 yards, a TD, and 23 DK a couple of weeks ago with Collins out and that potential is there this week – especially against a poor UNC pass defense and a high-scoring game environment. The Clemson pass attack has been very inconsistent, but Collins is a top target and he’s pretty affordable on both sites.
Malik KnowlesKSUTCU540013.64700010.39
Even though Kansas State’s offense tends to be more run-heavy, Knowles is still a solid play. He’s put up double-digit DK points in nine of 12 games this season with 26 and 18 DK in the past two. He’s a top weapon in the K-State attack after Deuce Vaughn and will benefit from this high-scoring matchup with TCU. Knowles had four catches for 69 yards against TCU earlier this season.
Devin MaddoxTOLOHIO540010.2765008.23
Toledo’s passing attack has a fantastic matchup against an Ohio defense that’s giving up 270 passing yards per game during conference play (101st in FBS). It makes the Rockets’ pass-catchers interesting value plays with Devin Maddox and Jerjuan Newton at the top. Maddox has double-digit DK points in four straight games and five of the last six as he’s been a favorite target in the offense. He’s pretty affordable for a decent cash floor.
Duece WattsTULUCF490011.41680010.01
Watts is quietly catching TDs left and right. The Tulane wideout now has a team-high seven receiving scores this season with a TD in six of the past eight games. He’s cheap enough on this slate to consider in a higher-scoring matchup where Michael Pratt may be looking his way more than usual with Tyjae Spears being a focus of the UCF defense. Watts had four catches, 48 yards, a TD and 14 DK against UCF earlier this season.
Davis AllenCLEMUNC37008.456006.85
There aren’t many viable dart throws on this slate, but Allen is an option in GPPs for the upside of 10-15 DFS points. The Clemson tight end didn’t have a catch last week, but he had four grabs for 35 yards and a TD the game prior. Like Williams above, Allen should see an uptick in targets with Beaux Collins out. It’s worth a look against a bad UNC secondary in a high-scoring matchup where the potential for a TD or two is there.

Also Consider:

  • Jalen Moreno-Cropper – Fresno State (GPP)
  • Antoine Green – UNC (GPP)
  • Ryan O'Keefe – UCF (Cash)
  • Tez Johnson – Troy (GPP)
  • Jerjuan Newton – Toledo (Cash/GPP)
  • Latrell Caples – Boise State (GPP)
  • Zane Pope – Fresno State (Cash)
