Today’s Top Plays
Ochai Agbaji – OVER 27.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
When Kansas played TCU two days ago, Ochai Agbaji shot only 4-for-17 from the field as his team ended up getting upset on the road. In tonight’s home rematch, expect Agbaji and the Jayhawks to bounce back big time. The senior wing scored at least 20 points in each of the four previous games before Tuesday’s dud – though he still had 13 points and 22 combined points, rebounds and assists despite the poor shooting percentage.
Agbaji has over 27.5 PRA in three of the last five and is averaging 28.1 PRA over the past ten games. We can bank on him being more aggressive offensively and as a rebounder to ensure Kansas doesn’t suffer the same fate as earlier this week. Agbaji also tends to have better statistical games at home than on the road. He has at least 28 PRA in four of the last six home contests.
Hunter Dickinson – OVER 28.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
Hunter Dickinson gets a fantastic matchup tonight and it should help him go over 28.5 combined points, rebounds and assists. Iowa plays at the second-fastest tempo in the Big Ten and is 52nd in pace in all of college basketball. The Hawkeyes are also the worst defensive rebounding team in the conference and continually struggle to stop interior scoring. Put it all together and you get opposing big men essentially penciled in for a double-double and the possibility at 20+ points.
Dickinson had 30 PRA in this matchup a couple of weeks ago and is coming off an excellent performance vs. Michigan State that featured 33 points scored. The Michigan center has over 28.5 PRA in eight of the last 11 games and is averaging 31.3 PRA over the past ten. The offense is running through him on nearly every possession with the Wolverines hungry for an NCAA Tournament berth. Expect him to have a ton of opportunities to put up points and rebounds tonight.
Kofi Cockburn – UNDER 20.5 Points
Let’s wrap things up with everyone’s favorite – an under! It’s never fun to root against players, but that’s what we’re going to do with Kofi Cockburn tonight. The Illinois center is certainly capable of taking games over when he’s dominating inside, but he likely won’t be able to do that tonight. This is a tough matchup on paper, as Penn State boasts the best two-point defense in the Big Ten and forces opposing teams to score more from the perimeter than in the paint.
Cockburn, meanwhile, has been under 20.5 points in three of the last five games and five of the last seven. The Nittany Lions also play at the slowest tempo in the conference and don’t foul often on defense. This is all going against Cockburn, who never shoots three-pointers and generates all of his points either inside or from the free-throw line.
