Tonight's Top Plays:
Jack Nunge (Xavier) – OVER 21.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
When Nunge transferred from Iowa, there was hope that the big 7-footer would be a difference-maker for the Xavier program. That’s exactly what has happened, as his presence at both ends of the floor has changed the team. He is a solid offensive player who also affects so many shots around the rim with blocks and rebounds. Over the last 10 games, Nunge is Xavier’s leading scorer (14.4 PPG) and rebounder (7.7 boards), and he carries a 21.8% usage and 22.4% shot rate.
Tonight, he gets a rematch with St. John’s – the third-worst adjusted defensive efficiency team in the Big East (98.9), but also the second-ranked adjusted tempo offense (74.1) in the entire nation. St. John’s, in other words, plays no defense and likes to run at a very fast pace. They are also a bad defensive rebounding team, ranking 318th in the country, which will allow plenty of boards and second shots for Nunge. He comes into the game with a 9.7% offensive rebound and 21.9% defensive rebound rate, so the boards will pile up fast on the stat sheet.
These two teams met two weeks ago and Nunge scored 22 points with seven rebounds and two assists – which would smash today’s prop. Go right back to the well and take the over on Nunge’s 21.5 PRA tonight.
Henry Coleman III (Texas A&M) – OVER 15.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
We are looking at another transfer here that has helped his new program. Coleman III came over from Duke as the No. 45-ranked recruit in the 2020 class. He struggled to fit into the Blue Devil rotation, but has found a home in College Station as he added much-needed size and length to Buzz Williams’ squad. Tonight, Coleman III faces Alabama, another fast-paced team that struggles on the defensive side.
Alabama carries a 103.37 defensive efficiency rating (230th) into the game but, on the flip side, their offense is ranked 10th in adjusted efficiency (117.0) and 15th adjusted tempo (72.1). More importantly, like St. John’s, they are poor on the defensive rebounding side with a 31.3% rate (298th in the country). Enter Coleman III, who has a solid 11.0% offensive rebounding rate and should feast inside with boards and second shots. He has easily hit this 15.5 prop in seven of his last nine games and, in this type of game environment, should continue again tonight.
Other Favorites:
- Henry Coleman II – OVER 6.0 Rebs
- Jack Nunge – OVER 7.5 Rebs
