Clifford Omoruyi (Rutgers) – OVER 7.0 Rebounds
This 19.5 projection for Cliff Omoruyi’s combined points, rebounds, and assists makes sense when you consider he’s averaging 20 PRA per game this season. Admittedly, he’s been boom-or-bust throughout Big Ten play and tends to struggle in tougher matchups. Well, things get much easier tonight against Notre Dame in this First Four matchup. The Irish rank 334th nationally in offensive rebounding rate and allow the majority of opposing points in the paint. It’s a matchup for big men to smash in and Omoruyi should do it here to rack up just enough points and rebounds with the real upside for a double-double. The Rutgers center has 20 PRA or more in five of the last seven games and had 19 in another.
Grant Basile (Wright State) – OVER 28.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
First off, Wright State gets a major pace-boost tonight with Bryant running at the nation’s seventh-fastest tempo. That and the 155 game total immediately should have us looking at over’s for the Raiders. Let’s do it with Grant Basile’s combined points, rebounds, and assists. The Wright St center has gone over 28.5 PRA in 10 of the last 13 games and had 28 PRA exactly in two of those unders. He’s averaging 20.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over the past ten contests for a healthy 31.5 PRA average. There should be plenty of rebounding opportunities on the defensive end, and Basile will have a size and skill advantage on offense in this matchup.
Gibson Jimerson (Saint Louis) – OVER 19.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
Let’s wrap things up with an NIT play. Saint Louis sharpshooter Gibson Jimerson has a dream matchup tonight and it should push him over this PRA projection. Northern Iowa’s defense naturally allows the country’s second-most opposing three-pointers per game with a subpar 35.4% make rate from deep (277th nationally). Jimerson, meanwhile, is the Billikens’ best perimeter scorer at 41.2% this season. He recently scored 19 points or more in four straight games while being on fire from deep in the latter part of the season. At home tonight in a good matchup, expect Jimerson to take advantage and he could go over this PRA prop with his three-point shooting alone. Unfortunately, he doesn’t offer much in the rebounding and assists – but that shouldn’t matter here.
