Buddy Boeheim, Syracuse – OVER 3.0 3-PT Made

The star senior shooting guard is on pace to move into the #2 spot on the Syracuse career 3-pointers list today when the Orange host Louisville in the Carrier Dome today. Boeheim enters today with 280 career 3-pointers to rank fourth in Syracuse history just three shy of eclipsing Trevor Rooney and Andy Rautins for sole possession of second place.

Boeheim enters the weekend ranked third in the ACC for scoring average at 19.3 points per game and second with 59 total 3-pointers while playing 37.5 minutes per game. He is a well-known gunner from behind the arc and is averaging at least eight three-point shots a game. Louisville comes in a broken team, and this is adding up to be one of the classic “Buddy Ball” games where he is hitting from everywhere and trying to cement himself in the Syracuse record books in front of the Orange faithful.

Walker Kessler, Auburn- OVER 22.5 Pts/Rebounds/Assists

Kessler has made a huge impact as a transfer from North Carolina. Bruce Pearl has helped to turn his game around at Auburn making him a tougher, more physical player that protects the rim and does more damage in the paint. Today, he faces a Georgia interior defense that ranks 336th in the nation in two point % allowed and 329th in defensive efficiency.

Kessler has hit the 22.5 Pts/Reb/Assist total in six straight games, and it really hasn’t even been close. He has been smashing every game with a 16.4 point and 9.8 rebound average over the last five. Blowout factor is a minor concern here, but Kessler should hit this mark well before the benches get emptied.

Armando Bacot, North Carolina- OVER 12.5 REBOUNDS

Bacot is arguably the ACC Player of the Year so far. The true post player is a force in the paint for the Tar Heels as he leads the ACC in rebounding (12.6 per game) and is seventh in scoring. He is a double-double machine having recorded at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in all but one of UNC’s 11 ACC games. He has had over 12 rebounds in four straight games and has at least 10 in every game since December 11. Bad news for Duke today as Bacot should smash on the boards. Take the over and run with it.
