Posh Alexander, St. John’s – OVER 4.5 Assists

It’s been a bit of a struggle this season but two weeks ago against Georgetown, the Posh Alexander that St. John’s has been waiting for showed up. He is a two-way general. A menace on defense and a magician on offense – and he was at his best that game against the Hoyas. In the 32 minutes that he played, St. John’s outscored Georgetown by 24 points, and he ended the night with 17 points, seven assists, six rebounds and six steals.

Here we are again as Posh and the Johnnies travel to McDonough Arena for a rematch of two high-paced teams. Georgetown has the 249th-ranked adjusted efficiency defense (106.1) and the 47th adjusted tempo (70.6), while St. John’s owns the fourth-highest adjusted tempo in the nation (73.2). This is going to be a fast game and points will be scored. Posh is coming off a career-game against Providence as he contributed 29 points, 12 assists and five rebounds.

Alexander has gone over the 4.5 assist mark five times over his last seven games. The two games where he didn’t go over the mark were Villanova and Creighton – two top 30 defenses. St. John’s will be playing fast and getting quick transition looks from deep and in the paint – all playing right in Posh’s favor.

Johnny Juzang, UCLA – OVER 2.0 3-PT Made

Johnny Juzang should return tonight for the biggest game left on UCLA’s regular-season schedule. It is a highly anticipated rematch with No. 7 Arizona and, if all goes well, Juzang will be back bombing from beyond the arc. His return means that UCLA gets its leading scorer back (18.1 PPG). Plus, he co-led the Bruins in scoring with 15 points in their 75-59 victory over the Wildcats a little over a week ago.

Entering the Arizona game, Juzang was averaging 24.5 points across his previous four games – shooting above 50% from the field and three-point range in the process. Juzang averages over five three-point attempts per game over the last two seasons and is carrying a 39.5% make rate this year. With Arizona being the second-ranked adjusted tempo (73.3) team in the nation, this game will be fast and plenty of three-point buckets will be scored.

Kerr Kriisa, Arizona – OVER 5.0 Assists

Here is the bad news: In the first of Arizona’s Pac-12 showdowns with UCLA last week, Wildcats' guard Kerr Kriisa was 0-for-12 from the field and nine misses came from 3-point range. The good news? I wouldn’t expect that to happen again tonight as UCLA enters a hostile environment with Arizona looking for revenge. In that horrible shooting game by Kriisa, he still managed six assists in Arizona’s lowest scoring output of the season.

Kriisa comes into tonight’s game with a 26% assist rate and is averaging 5.5 over the last five games. He is the type of player that likes to shine in the big games and no game is bigger so far this season than tonight for the Wildcats in McKale Center.
