Tonight's Top Plays:

Tyger Campbell – OVER 12.5 Points

Since recently missing a pair of games due to a shoulder injury and suspension, Campbell looks rejuvenated. He’s scored 12 and 20 points in the past two outings and that latest outburst came without Johnny Juzang in the lineup. Juzang looks doubtful to play tonight with his ankle injury, so expect Campbell to be more active offensively like he just was on Saturday. That increase in shot volume and offensive responsibility should push the Bruins point guard over 12.5 points against subpar Washington defense in a pace-boost matchup. Before his injury, Campbell had scored at least 13 points in each of the three games prior.

Terrell Brown Jr. – UNDER 19.5 Points

Full transparency: this is a risky pick to go under on because Terrell Brown Jr. is averaging 21.5 PPG this season and 22.5 PPG over the past ten games. He’s always a candidate to score 20 points in any given game with his consistently-high usage and shot volume in the Washington offense. Still, tonight’s matchup is a tough one as UCLA boasts the top-ranked defense in the Pac-12 and 10th-best in the whole country. The Bruins held Brown to just 13 points a week-and-a-half ago as he shot 5-for-17 from the field. UCLA has multiple defenders to throw at Brown while forcing others to beat them, and that’s probably the strategy tonight. It’s also worth noting that Daejon Davis now being back for Washington should result in fewer shots for Brown, who’s been under 19.5 points in four of the last eight games.

Caleb Love (North Carolina) – OVER 21.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts

One look at Caleb Love’s recent game logs should tell you how low this projection seems. As you can see below, the Tar Heels’ point guard is averaging 26 combined points, rebounds and assists over the past five games and went over this 21.5 number each time. Looking further back, Love is averaging 23.2 PRA over the past ten games and has gone 21.5 in eight of the last 11 contests. Tonight he gets a favorable matchup against Syracuse’s struggling defense that’s been getting torched by opposing attacks every game lately. The famed Cuse zone D has a ton of weaknesses right now and Love’s 43.7% three-point shooting at home gives him upside in this matchup. Either way, he should fill up the stat sheet with assists and rebounds in addition to his scoring with a high-scoring, fast-paced game environment coming.
