Justin Lewis (Marquette) – Over 27.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
Justin Lewis is slowly rising up NBA Draft boards with his outstanding play this season as Marquette’s headliner. The sophomore wing/power forward is now averaging 17.0 PPG and 8.0 RPG on the year and hasn’t slowed down against Big East competition. Lewis is averaging 18.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists over the past ten games - which comes out to a 28.8 PRA per-game average. He’s put up at least 28 combined points/rebounds/assists in six of the last seven games. Considering these trends, this 27.5 PRA line seems a touch too low. The only risk is the possible blowout factor that limits Lewis’ minutes and the need to put up numbers - though this matchup vs. Georgetown is as easy as it gets.
Malik Williams (Louisville) – UNDER 16.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
Before we get into why we’re taking the under on Malik Williams tonight, let’s first just acknowledge something. Williams has the raw talent and ability to smash this PRA prop on any given night and he’s averaging 18.8 PRA per game this season. Why are we going under then? Well, the Louisville basketball program is a mess right now and Williams is right at the center of it. He was recently suspended two games by interim head coach Mike Pegues and then logged just six minutes in his return last game. He went 0-for-2 from three, grabbed one rebound, and looked disinterested in the limited action. Who knows where Williams’ head is at and how much he even plays tonight - but the under is the right side to be on until we’re shown otherwise.
Rasir Bolton (Gonzaga) – UNDER 2.5 Rebounds
Admittedly, this is a random one -- because who really cares about Rasir Bolton’s rebound total?! Well, the basic trends and stats tell us there’s a clear direction to go here. Bolton has been under this 2.5 rebound total in nine of the last 10 games, averaging just 1.9 RPG since conference play began. His season-long 2.6 RPG average is inflated a bit because of a few bigger rebound performances at the beginning of the year. Against conference competition, though, Bolton simply doesn’t have a rebounding role for the Zags as Chet Holmgren, Drew Timme and others clean up the boards. The blowout factor of this matchup vs. Pepperdine should also limit Bolton’s minutes just enough to stay under.
