College Basketball CBB DFS Top Plays 1/28 Night Slate

CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Joseph Girard IIISYRVT810028.21
With Syracuse on the slate, we have the guard duo of Joe Girard and Judah Mintz both in play. Mintz is better for GPP lineups, but Girard is a safer cash play with his more-consistent heavy shot volume. Girard also went off for 24 points and 34 DK vs Virginia Tech in the first meeting and comes in hot with 18, 28, and 21 points scored in the past three games. He’s been good during conference play and is averaging 20.4 PPG and 33 DK over the past 10 contests.
Sean PedullaVTSYR760029.9
Pedulla had 32 DK vs Syracuse earlier this month despite shooting just 2-for-11 from three and 3-for-15 overall from the field. Imagine if he made some of those three’s in addition to a strong floor of ancillary stats? Against the zone defense, we know Pedulla will get those looks from deep again – so let’s bank on him shooting better at home. On that note, the home splits are in his favor – 41% from three at home vs 18% on the road this season. He's averaging 15 PPG and 30 DK over the past 10 games and has upside to best those numbers tonight.
Tyrece RadfordTA&MVAND750025.35
Texas A&M gets an easy matchup and a pace-boost against Vanderbilt tonight, so we can look at both Tyrece Radford and Wade Taylor as solid plays for cash or GPP. You can make a good argument for one or the other (or both), but Radford comes in hot with 22 and 30 points scored in the past two games – good for 28 and 47 DK, respectively. Both Radford and Taylor are pretty affordable in the mid-7k range compared to some other top plays tonight.
Jalen Hood-SchifinoIUOSU690025.19
Indiana’s talented freshman has been held in check offensively over the past few games while Trayce Jackson-Davis is dominating. Hood-Schifino is very tough to trust right now to return value, but he still presents a nice buy-low opportunity at his cheapest price point since early January. He’s worth a shot in GPP lineups for the potential 30-40 DK outing once his shot starts falling because there’s a solid floor of ancillary stats there already.

Devin AskewCALSTAN610025.23
After being out for the past month, Askew finally returned to Cal’s lineup last game and he stepped right back into a lead ball-handler role. He logged 33 minutes, saw a 27% usage rate, and took 12 shots before finishing with eight points, seven assists, and 23 DK. The final stat line could’ve been a lot better but he went 2-for-12 from the field. Though Askew hasn’t lived up to expectations in real life over the years, he’s still in a high-usage role on a bad Cal team which makes him a DFS option. This is actually a buy-low spot on a guy that was regularly putting up 25-30 DK and priced way higher than this before his absence.
Antonio ReevesUKKU580018.76
Reeves has emerged as a top scorer for Kentucky during conference play, averaging 16.8 PPG over the past six games and scoring in double figures each time. He’s a bit scoring-dependent without many other counting stats for a floor, but the upside is there if he’s still being priced below 6k. It’s clear that Reeves is a top offensive and scoring option for a Kentucky team that's surging since changing up its rotations. Reeves has been a focal point of the turnaround and he'll be needed again in a tough non-con matchup vs Kansas.
Woody NewtonOKSTMISS500010.31
Even though he’s listed as a guard, Newton is very much a forward at 6-foot-9 while playing both power forward and center spots for Oklahoma State. Either way, we get him as a guard value at 5k flat. While Moussa Cisse is still banged up, Newton has started the past three games with Tyreek Smith shifting to a bench role. Newton has 20+ DK in three of the last four contests with Cisse out, which could be the case again tonight in non-conference tilt ahead of Wednesday's rivalry matchup vs Oklahoma.
Isaac LikekeleOSUIU500016.07
Likekele is back in a starting role for Ohio State and he's seeing higher usage running the point at times. His 15 DK last game was a clear dropoff from the 40-burger he had two games ago, but we should get 20-25 DK from him tonight as a solid cash salary-saver. On the road in a must-win game tonight should result in Likekele’s veteran experience earning him a bigger role again. Plus, this is a pace-boost for the Buckeyes.

Trayce Jackson-DavisIUOSU1100045.54
TJD is arguably the top overall DFS play in college basketball right now and it’s become very tough to fade him despite the expensive price tag. The Indiana center is on an absolute tear with a 20-20 stat line last game, 65+ DK in back-to-back contests, and 50+ DK in four straight. He’s averaging 24.4 points, 14.4 rebounds, and four blocks per game over the last seven games. Bank on him to keep it going at home vs Ohio St.
Jalen WilsonKUUK970039.2
Wilson has gotten expensive, but we know what we’re getting with the All-American candidate. He consistently pumps out 35-40 DK almost every time out with heavy shot volume, high offensive usage, and a slew of ancillary stats while playing nearly every minute. Wilson is averaging 20.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 36 DK over the past 10 games and should givs us a similar stat line or better in this marquee matchup vs Kentucky. He’s been stepping up against tough competition all year and it’ll happen again tonight.
Justyn MuttsVTSYR880032.45
Mutts’ skillset and role for Virginia Tech matches up really well against the Syracuze zone defense. He had 41 DK with 21 points and nine assists vs Cuse earlier this month and recorded had a triple-double last year in this matchup. Even though he’s expensive tonight, there’s a decent chance Mutts puts up the same or better DFS numbers as Jalen Wilson or Oscar Tshiebwe but costs a bit less.
Jacob ToppinUKKU720024.49
Toppin is tearing it up lately with 38, 32, and 32 DK in the past three games. His uptick in DFS production has coincided with Kentucky playing better as a team recently and Toppin’s involvement on both ends is a big reason why. His price tag has risen up, but the proven upside for 30-40 DK is there. He’s now done it in five of the last seven contests. Plus, he may need to step up offensively tonight if Kansas and Bill Self scheme to shut down Oscar Tshiebwe.

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Nate BittleOREUTAH550016.64
Bittle stepped into a much bigger role last game with N’Faly Dante out for Oregon. The 7-footer had 11 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks in a season-high 30 minutes for a massive 38 DK performance. If Dante is out again tonight, which is possible since it’s a quick turnaround from Thursday’s knee issue, Oregon will surely need Bittle’s size against Utah center Branden Carlson. Even with the price increase, Bittle is a great salary-saver if Dante is out.
Jayveous McKinnisMISSOKST530014.54
McKinnis has 20+ DK in four straight games since re-joining the Ole Miss starting lineup. He’s been productive when given the minutes this year and he’s currently getting the majority of playing time at power forward over Robert Allen and Josh Mballa. The price is slowly rising, but we can still count on 4x value or so if McKinnis continues to start.
Tyler BilodeauORSTCOL500013.31
Bilodeau has been a value for us a lot lately because DK keeps pricing him right in that 5k range. The freshman hasn’t been consistent, but the 4x or 5x upside is there in a regular starting role for Oregon State. This is a pace-boost against Colorado and Bilodeau had 22 DK in the prior matchup. Plus, this gives you cheap exposure to one of the late-night games.
Malik DiaVANDTA&M37007.48
Dia led Vanderbilt in scoring last game with 14 points in a season-high 21 minutes off the bench. It was definitely an outburst from a guy that’s been barely playing this season, but it should not go overlooked. The freshman is getting more playing time lately with Liam Robbins sidelined and that may continue tonight. He’s worth a dart throw in GPPs.
