CBB DFS Top Guards

Marcus SasserUHUCF850029.89
Even in a low-total game, Sasser should be considered a top play tonight. First off, Houston just lost its last game so Sasser and Co. should be motivated to play well and get a convincing win here. Plus, the Cougars’ leader consistently pumps out 30 DK performances including his 18 points and 32 DK vs UCF in this season’s first meeting. He’s averaging 17.3 PPG and 32 DK over the past 10 games and is a safe cash option.
Jamarius BurtonPITTWAKE830030.22
Burton is averaging a strong 30 DK per game over the past 10 contests while putting up 17.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per outing. Even though he’s now at a season-high price tag, we can still play him in all formats and feel pretty good about it with his stat-stuffing and heavy offensive usage. Tonight, Burton and Pitt get a pace boost against a weaker Wake defense.
Jahmir YoungUMDWISC810028.79
People may overlook Young tonight in a low-total matchup and a price tag above 8k, but he’s a great option. We know the Maryland point guard will see heavy shot volume and offensive usage, which keeps his DFS floor pretty safe. Plus, he’s recently scored 30, 20, and 26 real points in a three-game span. Young played well vs Wisconsin earlier this season with 17 points and 27 DK. He has 32+ DK in four straight coming into tonight.
Cameron HildrethWAKEPITT710027.54
Hildreth has come on strong lately with 30+ DK in five straight games while averaging 19 PPG over this span. Yet, he’s priced just barely over 7k tonight and presents great value. Though it’s a slight pace-down spot against a solid Pitt defense on the road, Hildreth can do plenty to give us 30 DK or so again. Plus, he’s notably cheaper than other top options for similar DFS production.
Ryan NembhardCRESTJN630024.22
Nembhard hasn’t always lived up to his price tags this season, but tonight presents GPP potential and value in a high-scoring matchup with St. John’s. The Creighton point guard is coming off a 31 DK performance last game and has 30+ DK in three of the last six. This uptempo game environment tonight should benefit Nembhard to play to his DFS ceiling, like his 30+ DK in other fast-paced games this season vs Xavier, DePaul, Arizona, and Arkansas.

Also Consider:

  • Colby Jones – Xavier ($8600) – Cash
  • Mark Sears – Alabama ($7700) – GPP
  • Wendell Green – Auburn ($7600) – Cash
  • Boo Buie – Northwestern ($7000) – GPP

Allen FlaniganAUBTA&M610019.12
Flanigan’s price tag is increasing lately, but he’s still a solid value until we get into the high-6k range. Since he started getting starter-level minutes five games ago, Flanigan has 24+ DK in four of the last five and is a candidate to go for 30+ DK any time out while filling the stat sheet in multiple ways. He’s now starting with Chris Moore sidelined and it’s hard to see that changing even when Moore returns.
Adam KunkelXAVUCONN560019.78
Kunkel is a pretty solid cash play as long as he’s priced under 6k. The senior guard has 23+ DK in four of the last five games and is regularly playing 30-35 minutes in Xavier’s tight rotation. Kunkel also just had 34 DK last time out with 14 points, seven assists, and four rebounds. He’s an affordable way to get exposure to this high-total matchup with UConn.
Noah LockePROVBUTLE500017.01
Locke exploded for 29 points and 39 DK last game while taking 17 shots (7-for-12 from three). As a three-point specialist, Locke always has DFS upside when he gets hot from deep and this price tag is very cheap for the potential 5x return or better. He’s also getting more shot volume right now with Jared Bynum still out. Still, limit to GPPs without much ancillary stat production for a floor.
Jordan DavisWISCUMD440014.33
Davis moved back into Wisconsin’s starting lineup on Monday with Max Klesmit out. He scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds for 29 DK across 38 minutes in the starting role. Klesmit is doubtful tonight, so Davis should be locked into heavy minutes in the backcourt again – especially against Maryland’s smaller lineups. Even in a low-total matchup on the road, Davis can do enough across the board to return value at this cheap price tag.
Tyreke KeyTENNUGA430017.04
Key returned on Saturday from a one-game absence and put up an efficient 21 DK across just 18 minutes played. Though he came off the bench last game, we should see Key back in Tennessee’s starting lineup soon and possibly tonight. This is a pace boost for the Vols and Key can return 5x value at this cheap price.

Also Consider:

  • Pop Isaacs – Texas Tech ($6200) – Cash
  • Greg Elliott – Pittsburgh ($5700) – GPP
  • Jayden Taylor – Butler ($5500) – GPP
  • Brooks Barnhizer – Northwestern ($4300) – Cash if Julian Roper is out
  • Jahvon Quinerly – Alabama ($4000) – GPP
  • AJ Storr – St. John's ($3700) – GPP

Trayce Jackson-DavisIUMINN1100044.25
If you have the salary to fit him in, then Jackson-Davis should be strongly considered in all formats tonight. The Indiana big man is on an absolute tear lately. He’s averaging an elite stat line of 24.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 3.3 blocks per game over the past six contests since returning from injury in early January. TJD has multiple 50+ DK outings and even a couple 65+ DK performances in this hot streak. Minnesota has a weak frontcourt, in both rebounding and defense, and TJD should smash again.
Joel SorianoSTJNCRE920036.66
Soriano continues to be a double-double machine and a DFS stud any time St. John’s is on the slate. The center is now averaging 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 39 DK over the past 10 games and is about as consistent as it gets for 35-40 DK production with his team regularly playing in high-scoring matchups. That should be the case again tonight vs Creighton in an uptempo game.
Ryan KalkbrennerCRESTJN830031.09
On the other side of Soriano is Kalkbrenner, who’s also firmly in play for cash or GPP lineups with this uptempo environment. The Creighton center is averaging 14.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, and 32 DK over the past 10 games and he has 40+ DK upside at his best in higher-scoring matchups like tonight. There’s a way for both Soriano and Kalkbrenner to put up numbers in this game, so don’t shy away from either or both in lineups.
Jarace WalkerUHUCF710024.49
As has been the case all season with Walker, the Houston freshman is an intriguing boom-or-bust GPP play tonight at this affordable price tag. We’ve seen a 30+ DK ceiling in three of the last four games, which bodes well for him to keep it going tonight. However, there’s the risk for a bust outing like his sub-10 DK performance vs UCF a month ago in the prior meeting. Interestingly, Walker has played better on the road this season – averaging 13.8 PPG and 30 DK compared to 8.3 PPG and 21 DK at home.

Also Consider:

  • Brandon Miller – Alabama ($9900) – GPP
  • Bryce Hopkins – Providence ($9000) – Cash
  • Zach Freemantle – Xavier ($8400) – GPP/Cash

CBB DFS Value Forwards

Brandon SuggsUCFUH490015.1
Usually we don’t recommend rostering anyone against Houston, but Suggs is worth a look in GPPs. Since joining the starting lineup in place of the injured Darius Johnson, he’s scored in double figures with 20+ DK in two of the last three games. People will understandably be staying away from UCF in this matchup, which puts Suggs and others as contrarian plays.
Jerome HunterXAVUCONN470012.68
Hunter is still a solid value as long as he’s priced below 5k. He has 18+ DK in four straight and is averaging 19 DK over the past eight games as one of Xaiver’s main bench options in a tight rotation. He had 15 points, five rebounds, and 21 DK vs UConn in this season’s prior meeting and is an affordable way to get exposure to this high-total matchup.
Treyton ThompsonMINNIU30005.89
With both Dawson Garcia and Pharrel Payne ruled out tonight, we may see Treyton Thompson start tonight. The 7-footer actually started seven games to begin this season but has been barely off of the bench in conference play. Out of necessity, Thompson may have to play 20-30 minutes if he stays out of foul trouble because Minnesota has no frontcourt depth. You could also look at Jaden Henley or Joshua Ola-Joseph as values depending on the starting lineup.

Also Consider:

  • Jamison Battle – Minnesota ($6000) – GPP
  • Charles Bediako – Alabama ($5500) – GPP
  • Jonas Aidoo – Tennessee ($4900) – GPP
