CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Souley BoumXAVDPU930033.53
With Xavier in action tonight, we have both Souley Boum and Colby Jones as top guard options. Both should put up numbers in this high-total matchup against a poor defensive team in DePaul. It’s always hard choosing between them, and you likely can’t go wrong tonight. Boum gets the slight edge tonight with a better floor/ceiling DFS combo. He’s also been lights-out on the road in conference play with 49, 37, and 57 DK in the past three road Big East matchups.
El EllisULPITT820029.24
Last night we suggested Matthew Cleveland as a top play and he responded with 48 DK for Florida State. Well, Ellis is like the poor man’s Matthew Cleveland as the best player with heavy usage on a bad team where the offense revolves around him. People tend to overlook Ellis because he plays for lowly Louisville, but he’s now averaging 19.4 PPG and 34 DK over the past 10 games. We’ll take that all day in cash lineups.
Ricky Council IVARKMIZZ760028.52
Both Ricky Council and Anthony Black are strong plays on this slate in a high-scoring, uptempo matchup with Missouri. They’re both in higher-usage offensive roles with Nick Smith out and both have the upside for 30-40 DK in any given game. Council just went for 24 points and 34 DK last game. He was also excellent vs Mizzou in the prior matchup with 25 points and 35 DK.
Devin CarterPROVMARQ710026.96
Bryce Hopkins is the headliner for Providence right now, but Carter is also stepping up in real life and in DFS. He has 30+ DK in five of the last six games while averaging 17.7 PPG during this span. That includes his 37 DK with 20 points scored vs Marquette earlier this season. The pace-boost helps all of Providence’s players for DFS and Carter can give us 30 DK again, which is very attractive at this affordable price tag compared to other top options.
Armaan FranklinUVVT680022.59
After going for 20 points and 32 DK last game, Franklin continues his hot stretch over the past month while in a bigger offensive role for Virginia. He now has 27+ DK in six straight games with double-digit shot attempts in each outing. UVA is in a pace-boost spot in almost every game it plays, and that’s the case again tonight vs Virginia Tech. That puts Franklin on our radar again and he’s actually underpriced compared to other top guards tonight.

Also Consider:

  • Colby Jones – Xavier ($8700) – Cash
  • Mike Miles – TCU ($7900) – GPP
  • Jamarius Burton – Pittsburgh ($7700) – Cash
  • Anthony Black – Arkansas ($7000) – GPP

CBB DFS Value Guards

Dexter DennisTA&MUF570019.59
Dennis has been playing really well lately with 32, 32, and 25 DK over the past three games and double-digit points scored in each. This hot streak has coincided with Manny Obeski being out for Texas A&M, resulting in Dennis getting more consistent playing time and a bigger offensive role. He has also been one of A&M’s best rebounders lately and faces a weak rebounding team in Florida with a pace-boost as well.
Allen FlaniganAUBLSU550018.53
Flanigan has been an upside GPP value at times this season, but he’s now entering cash territory despite the price increase. His role has started to pick up lately with 30+ minutes played in three straight games and 36, 24, and 26 DK over these contests. He moved into the starting lineup on Saturday with Chris Moore out, which may be the case again tonight.
Alyn BreedPROVMARQ450013.66
If Jared Bynum is out again tonight, then Breed is a great value in all formats. He’s put up 25 and 19 DK in the last two games while starting in Bynum’s absence. Bynum is a game-time decision, so keep an eye on his status. Breed also scored 13 points with 25 DK off the bench against Marquette a month ago. This pace-boost matchup benefits Providence’s players overall for DFS.
Myreon JonesUFTA&M430011.72
Jones had been buried on the bench for most of this season, but his role for Florida has increased a ton during conference play. He’s logged at least 27 minutes in four of the last five games with 20+ DK in three straight coming into tonight. Jones’ price tag is starting to creep up, but this is still a great value for the 5x return or better.
Caleb AsberryOKSTOU390017.38
Asberry continues to be very underpriced compared to how well he’s playing right now. The senior guard is still coming off the bench, but he’s logging starter-level minutes with Moussa cisse sidelined. The uptick in playing time has resulted in double-digit points scored in both of the last two games to go with 29 and 33 DK in those outings. We’ll see if Cisse is out again tonight, but Asberry presents great value at sub-4k.

Also Consider:

  • Jermaine Couisnard – Oregon ($5300) – GPP
  • Milos Uzan – Oklahoma ($5100) – Cash
  • Will Richard – Florida ($5100) – Cash
  • Nike Sibande – Pittsburgh ($4300) – GPP
  • Paul Gebrewhit – DePaul ($4200) – Cash
  • Rodney Rice – Virginia Tech ($3500) – GPP

CBB DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Johni BroomeAUBLSU920032.34
Broome should have a big advantage inside tonight against LSU’s weak interior defense. The Tigers have struggled against traditional centers with both Oscar Tshiebwe and Colin Castleton having big games against them earlier this month. Broome should follow suit and bounce back from a bad game on Saturday to return to his normal 35-40 DK production.
Bryce HopkinsPROVMARQ900033.03
Hopkins smashed the slate the last time Providence played Marquette in a triple-OT game. He had 29 points, 23 rebounds, and 68 DK in that outing and that stat line alone should make him popular tonight with everyone chasing points. While we can’t realistically expect a repeat performance in this rematch, Hopkins is still a great play with 30-40 DFS upside in a pace-boost matchup against a shaky defensive team.
Jack NungeXAVDPU840032.58
At his best, Nunge has 40+ DK upside when he can grab double-digit boards and dominate the interior. There’s upside to do just that tonight against a weak DePaul frontcourt that’s allowed big games to opposing centers all season. Nunge has gone for 42+ DK in three of the last five games vs Big East competition and a potential 20-point double-double is in the cards tonight.
Kobe BrownMIZZARK820029.43
As has been the case all season, Brown is your classic boom-or-bust GPP option among the top-end players tonight. He just went off for 21 points and 41 DK last game and has shown that upside multiple times this season. However, the floor is at a sub-20 DK level and can ruin lineups. If you want to take on the risk, go for it. The upside is there again tonight in a high-total matchup with Arkansas – though he did bust for just 15 DK in the previous meeting earlier this month.
Brice SensabaughOSUNEB760027.75
Even with Ohio State stuck in a losing streak, Sensabaugh is rolling for the Buckeyes. The stud freshman just had 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 41 DK last game and now has 30+ DK in eight straight games. He’s averaging 20.1 PPG and 35 DK over this stretch and should keep it going against Nebraska’s below-average defense. It’s hard to ignore him in cash at this price compared to other top-priced guys tonight.

Also Consider:

  • Adama Sanogo – UConn ($8200) – GPP
  • N'Faly Dante – Oregon ($8100) – GPP
  • Emmanuel Miller – TCU ($7500) – Cash/GPP
  • Zed Key – Ohio State ($6200) – Cash/GPP

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Ben Vander PlasUVVT560017.83
Vander Plas has been a solid role player for Virginia all season but he’s usually a risky DFS option. In the past two games, though, he’s exploded for 40 and 29 DK with double-digit shot attempts and points scored in both. Maybe this is just a short-lived burst, but it’s also notable that Vander Plas entered UVA’s starting lineup last game with Kadin Shedrick playing just five minutes off the bench. There’s upside here based on the past two games.
Yor AneiDPUXAV530018.22
Anei is a decent cheap way to get exposure to this uptempo matchup vs Xavier. He’s put up 22+ DK in three of the last four games with double-digit points scored in two of the last three. If Anei can stay out of foul trouble vs Jack Nunge tonight, there’s 5x upside at this price tag with the pace-boost in mind.
Jerome HunterXAVDPU470011.86
Hunter barely played at the beginning of this season, but he’s become a solid value play as one of only two reserves in Xavier’s tight rotation now. Hunter is the main backup to Freemantle/Nunge in the frontcourt and he’s seeing a consistent 20 minutes or so during conference play. This solidified role has led to 18-25 DK in five of the last six games with double-digit points in four of those. The path to DFS value is there again tonight vs a weak rebounding and defensive team in DePaul.
Makhel MitchellARKMIZZ37009.52
Arkansas has been shuffling around its lineups and rotations lately while trying to figure things out with Nick Smith and Trevon Brazile sidelined. One player who appears to have a larger role now is Makhell Mitchell. He’s started back-to-back games for Arkansas and has 15 DK in both starts with the increase in minutes. It’s hard to trust the playing time or DFS production, but he’s worth a dart throw at this sub-4k price tag in a high-scoring matchup with Missouri.

Also Consider:

  • Grant Newell – California ($5500) – GPP
  • Tyreek Smith – Oklahoma State ($3900) – GPP
