College Basketball CBB DFS Top Plays January 13th:
CBB DFS Top Guards
Marcus Carr- Texas vs. Texas Tech ($7.9K)
After only averaging 11.4 points in his first season as a Longhorn, Carr has taken major steps to become a more efficient offensive player. Carr enters tonight’s game against Texas Tech averaging 17.3 points while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 44.6 percent from three-point range. The 6-2 guard shot just 39.4 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from long distance last season. Carr has also already made 41 three-point shots this season — he made 47 during all of last year. With a 35 DKFP average over his last five games, this is the Carr that we loved to use for DFS when he was at Minnesota and is the top point per dollar play of the slate at guard.
Makai Ashton-Langford- Boston College vs. Wake Forest ($6.7K)
This is the highest we have seen on MAL since the end of November but he is still a fair bargain at $6.7K. He has a solid floor with a low of 18 DKFP and a high of 37 DKFP since his early December injury. MAL comes into the game with a team-high 24.6% usage and 26.2% shot rate to go along with a 2.9% steal. Ashton-Langford is a solid all-arounShakeel Moorw play tonight.
Other Top Guards
Top point-per-dollar plays
- Tyree Appleby- Wake Forest ($8.5K) Avg 36 DKFP last 5 games- Appleby/Hildreth stack is the nuts- top pay up besides Broome
- Cameron Hildreth- Wake Forest ($7.6K) A triple-double threat; it's his highest price point of the season but he is smashing and in a great matchup against Boston College- cash play
- KJ Simpson- Colorado ($8.4K) 34 DKFP last 5- nearly “30/30” guy (29.8% usage/31.5% shot)- fully in play
- Jaylen Clark- UCLA ($8.0K) 28 DKFP last 5- one of the top point per $ plays
- Matt Bradley - San Diego State ($8.1K) 5 straight 25+ DKFP and 3 of his last 4 over 36 DKP- this is the Matt Bradley we all know and love! Cash play
- Darrion Trammell - San Diego State ($6.9K) Both Bradley and Trammell are in play; Trammell dealing with a little slump but is due to break out and a nice price with a 25% assist rate - need both players to keep up with New Mexico
CBB DFS Value Guards
Eric Reed Jr.- Mississippi State @ Auburn ($4.2K)
Reed is not exactly lighting the DFS world on fire but he is logging big time minutes for MSST. He is starting games and recently played nearly 30 minutes against Ole Miss and Georgia. The pace in tonight's game against Auburn favors a guard like Reed and the Tigers guards have been known to be turnover prone- giving him some steal opportunities.
Other Value Guards
Top point-per-dollar value plays
- Shakeel Moore- Mississippi State ($5.2K) Coming off 30 DKFP in 30 mins against Georgia
- David Singleton- UCLA ($5.4K) 20+ DKFP 3 of last 4 games
- Jaeden Zackery- Boston College ($5.8K) 26, 27 and 13 DKFP last 3 games
- Jabe Mullins- Washington State ($5.1K) 5 straight 20+ DKFP
- Justin Powell- Washington State ($5.6K)
- Nique Clifford- Colorado ($4.3K)
- Kymany Houinsou- Washington State ($3.7K) 29 mins/19 DKFP last game out against Cal
CBB DFS Top Forwards
Johni Broome- Auburn vs. Mississippi State ($9.0K)
Find the funds to get Broome in your lineup tonight. The guy is matchup-proof and is bringing in some major numbers in his first year in the SEC. Check these out- 27.7% usage with a big boy 30.5% shot rate to go along with a 13.9% offensive rebounding (47th), 24.8% defensive rebounding (54th), and a 10.9% block rate which is 11th in the nation. Broome has put Auburn on his back and the Morehead State transfer has become one of the best big men in the country by being a consistent inside scoring threat at the five. His 42 DKFP game against Ole Miss this week was the center’s 10th-straight game finishing in double digits in points (19) and a fourth-straight double-double, all coming in SEC play.
Adem Bona- UCLA vs. Colorado ($6.6K)
Already the back-to-back Pac-12 freshman of the week Bona is building a strong case for a three-peat. He is now coming off his career game against Utah where he contributed in every category, posting 15 points on seven-for-nine shooting to go with eight rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal for 31 DraftKings fantasy points. He is flourishing right before our eyes, especially in rebounding where his 4.9 average before Thursday's game was only third on the team- but he snagged three offensive boards in the first half alone. Bona now has five straight games over 25 DKFP and we can expect that to be six after tonight when he is at home against Colorado. This kid is going to be a star and it may be the last time we see him under $7K.
Other Top Forwards
Top point-per-dollar plays
- Mouhamed Gueye- Washington State ($8.0K) Always one of my favs- smoked Arizona for 54 DKFP just 2 games ago- 15.2 PPG/9.0 RPG
- Timmy Allen- Texas ($7.1K) Cheapest he's been in a month- always a solid cash play with a 25 DKFP floor
- DJ Rodman- Washington State ($6.0K) 15.2 PPG/6.4 RPG on season
- Daniel Batcho- Texas Tech ($6,5K) Huge talent and seems to be back again after another injury; should be good for 25 DKFP+- price will be north of $7K soon
- Morris Udeze - New Mexico ($7.5K) 30+ DKFP last 3 games- will be popular
- Quentin Post- Boston College ($6.3) UPDATE- is starting and becomes a core play
CBB DFS Value Forwards
Top point-per-dollar value plays

- Maxine Raynaud- Stanford ($5.2K)
- TJ Bickerstaff- Boston College ($5.5K)
- Andrej Jakimovski- Washington State ($4.2K) Had a decent game against Cal after two bad games - still seems to be too low a price for his talent
