CBB DFS TOP GUARDS

Jalen Cook - Tulane vs. Wichita State ($9.4K DK)

Jalen Cook is one of the best players in the country yet is still a relative unknown among non-CBB diehards. The third-year guard who transferred from LSU is now freed from the hamstring injury that sidelined him for five of Tulane’s first six games and hampered his mobility for a good while longer, has raised his average to an AAC-second-best 20.3 PPG behind reigning player of the year Kendric Davis of Memphis. As a member of the CBB “30/30” club, Cook has a 30.8% usage and 31.1% shot rate to go along with handing out dimes at a rate of 30.8%. This slate is stacked with guard power like Penn State’s Jalen Pickett and Davis of Memphis but I will take the discount on Cook in the second highest game total on the slate (149.5) against Wichita State.

Devin Carter - Providence @ Georgetown ($7.9K DK)

Devin Carter was recently snubbed as he did not make the list of 15 finalists for this year’s Naismith DPOY. The son of 13-year NBA veteran Anthony Carter, Devin is coming off a career game against Creighton a little over ten days ago.  He was glued to Baylor Scheierman in one of the most impressive defensive performances of the year as well as putting up 25 points and eight rebounds on his way to 44 DKFP. With a 21.2% usage and 20.7% shot rate to go along with a block rate (3.7%) and steal rate (3.1%), he makes for a great play. Carter has dropped a few hundred dollars since a week ago and can be considered a top play in all formats today.

Other Top Guards

  • Jalen Pickett - Penn State ($11.1 K DK, $9.1K FD) The top DFS guard in the country is GPP-only (in my opinion at least) today due to lack of value but is always in play in all formats.
  • Kendric Davis - Memphis ($9.7K DK, $8.3K FD) The reigning AAC POY leads the AAC in scoring once again (21.5 PPG).
  • Boo Buie - Northwestern ($8.8K DK) Buie is one of the hottest players in the nation and is averaging 40 DKFP with 32% usage over his last five games.
  • Bryce Hopkins G/F- Providence ($9.6K DK) Big east POY favorite is averaging nearly 40 DKFP over his last five games and does not come off the floor.
  • Brandon Murray - Georgetown ($7.0K DK) Murray is coming off a 25-point (40 DKFP) game against St. John’s.
  • Jaylen Forbes - Tulane ($7.8K DK) Forbes plays every minute of the game and is averaging 32 DKFP over his last five games and is in the top scoring environment on the slate.
  • David DeJulius - Cincinnati ($7.6K DK, $6.6K FD) DeJulius has scored 30+ DKFP in four of his last five games.
  • Hakim Hart - Maryland ($6.9K DK) Hart has two 40+ DKFP games in his last four played and is averaging 16.4 PPG and 3.6 APG over his last five.
  • Keyon Menifield - Washington ($6.8K DK) Absolutely love this kid. He is going to be a star and now has three straight 30 DKFP games.
  • Jared Bynum - Providence ($6.0K DK) With the lack of value, chances are that Bynum is in my main lineup. He is about as safe as it gets at this price since he is a stat sheet stuffer with 35+ DKFP potential. Just lock him in a guard spot and move on.

CBB DFS TOP GUARD VALUE

Joey Baker - Michigan vs. Wisconsin ($3.9K DK, $4.3K FD)

Joey Baker will be the lone Wolverine honored for Senior Day before Michigan hosts Wisconsin today. The Duke graduate transfer has played in all 28 games with two starts (replacing Jett Howard when injured) and will get the nod again today. He’s shooting 40.2% from three-point range and any time that he has been asked to play more Baker has shined. Despite coming off the bench, Baker has established his place as a key leader of the team. Baker may not be the most prolific scorer but by embracing his sixth-man role, he’s found consistency. His 5.3 points per game does not indicate significant production, but Baker has displayed the offensive firepower he is capable of both times that Howard has been out with injury. With Howard out against Rutgers on Thursday Baker took 12 shots and ended up with six points, three assists, a couple of rebounds, and two steals for 20 DKFP. He will already be starting due to the senior festivities and if Howard (lower leg) remains out then Baker certainly becomes a top play at this price on another value-starved Sunday slate.

Other CBB Guard Value

  • Koren Johnson - Washington ($4.6K DK) Johnson lit up Stanford for 31 DKFP earlier in the season. The freshman doesn’t start but should see around 30 minutes again especially if Noah Williams remains out.
  • Nique Clifford - Colorado ($4.5K DK) Colorado has been besieged with injuries which means more playing time for Clifford and Julian Hammond.
  • Bruce Thornton - Ohio State ($5.9K DK, $5.4K FD) Thornton is coming off one of his best games of the season (27 DKFP against Penn State).
  • Camren Wynter - Penn State ($4.5K DK, $5.0K FD) Wynter has emerged over the last two games as a scoring threat (14 and 18 points for a 29 DKFP average) while playing 30+ minutes.
  • Michael O’Connell - Stanford ($4.7K DK) Washington struggles against guards but O’Connell’s range of outcomes can be anywhere from 13 to 25 DFKFP.

CBB DFS TOP FORWARDS

Jaime Jaquez Jr. - UCLA @ Colorado ($10.1K DK)

The end of Jaime Jaquez Jr.’s celebrated UCLA career is nearing an end and his play in recent weeks has boosted his legacy on a Bruins team with national championship aspirations. It also has radically improved his standing in a two-man race for Pac-12 player of the year, along with Arizona’s Azuolas Tubelis. No one flies under the radar more than Jaquez Jr. and over his last six games, Jaquez has averaged 20.8 points and 10.7 rebounds while making 48.9% of his shots and 47.8% of his three-pointers. As he tries to make his claim as the first UCLA conference player of the year since Kevin Love in 2008, Jaquez Jr. is in a solid low-owned spot today at Colorado and well worth the price tag if you have the funds.

Harrison Ingram - Stanford vs. Washington ($7.5K DK)

Harrison Ingram withdrew from the 20 22 NBA Draft to come back and play his sophomore season following Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors. The point forward is one of the best passers in the country for his size and whether it’s out of the post or passing on the move he is so good at finding teammates. With a 25% usage, 25.4% combined rebound rate, and 26.9% assist rate the former five-star recruit is the straw that stirs the drink for the Cardinal. He has put up 35+ DKFP in three of his last four games and over a five-game stretch is averaging 13.4 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 5.0 APG for a 33 DKFP average. With his Stanford career winding down, Ingram gets a home matchup today against a Washington team that struggles on the boards (34.4% defensive rebound rate) and at only $7.5K is a steal at the forward position.

Other Top Forwards

  • DeAndre Williams - Memphis ($9.5K DK, $8.4K FD) Williams is always in play for me as a double-double threat every night. He is coming off a clunker so will not see high ownership but did put up 40+ DKFP in the first meeting.
  • Kevin Cross - Tulane ($8.6K DK) Cross sure can tilt but he also can smash (45 and 57 DKFP games in two of his last three).
  • Brice Sensabaugh - Ohio State ($7.7K DK, $6.9K FD) Sensabaugh is an NBA lottery pick that carries an incredible 40% usage rate over the last five games.
  • Braxton Meah - Washington ($6.7K DK) Meah is a 5X value player with a recent floor of 25 DKFP. He torched Stanford for a season-high 21 points and nine rebounds (42 DKFP) earlier in the season.
  • Ed Croswell - Providence ($7.3K DK DK) Croswell is in play as Georgetown allows 35 DKFP to starting centers.
  • Viktor Lakhin - Cincinnati ($7.1K DK/$6.4K FD) The Russian has done quite well for me in spots this season and is back healthy. If he stays out of foul trouble Lakhin is capable of 6-7X value.
  • Julian Reese - Maryland ($7.0K DK) Reese has been on fire with a 28% usage rate over his last five games. He is a main lineup type play with the way he has been playing (40 DKFP in his last two contests).
  • Maxine Raynaud - Stanford ($6.2K DK) Raynaud will not win you a GPP but he has a 20 DKFP floor.

CBB DFS TOP FORWARD VALUE

Michael Durr - Central Florida @ Tulane ($3.7K DK)

The Knights’ seven-footer Michael Durr returned from an eight-game absence last week against Memphis and right away caught a nice rhythm. After playing 10 minutes against the Tigers he was back at full minutes in the Cincinnati game and put up 15 points and five rebounds for 24 DKFP. If the big man, who bounced around from USF to Indiana last year, can keep fouls in check (4.6 FC/40) he can take advantage of his size presence today. He is a good ball handler for a big man and if he stays on the court, he can get into his post spot as a nice complement to phenom freshman Taylor Hendricks and be an impact player, especially at this sub-$4K price.

Other CBB Value Forward

  • Malcolm Dandridge - Memphis ($3.8K DK/$4.2K FD) Value is severely lacking today so that puts Dandridge in play. He has been hurt for most of the season but is back and capable of 20 minutes and 20 DKFP, but he’s still a bit of a long shot.
  • Matthew Nicholson - Northwestern ($4.4K DK). Nicholson can get us 4X today at 20 minutes. Beggars can’t be choosers on this slate.
  • Ody Oguama - Cincinnati ($4.1K DK/$4.8K FD) Oguama always seems to catch some ownership since he is in the starting five but is a constant foul threat. Let the others play this guy.
