CBB DFS TOP GUARDS

Terquavion Smith - North Carolina State vs. North Carolina ($9.2K DK/$8.0K FD)

Smith returned to North Carolina State looking to bring some success to the program after a down year and improve his NBA Draft stock in the process. He has achieved both of those goals so far and even more as Smith became one of the fastest to reach the 1,000-point mark in ACC history. The last ACC player to reach the mark faster was Tyler Hansbrough, who accomplished the feat in 54 games back during the 2006-07 season. Guard is loaded up top, but Smith is a near lock with a 28.8% usage, 29.5% shot rate, and 17.4 PPG with 3.4 three-pointers made per game since the start of the month. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s in the highest scoring contest of the day.

Darius Johnson - Central Florida vs. Cincinnati ($7.2K DK/$6.9K FD)

Darius Johnson (12.2 PPG, 5.8 APG over his last five games) is the definition of a competitor. He is a difference maker on the court and has an uncanny ability to spread the ball around the court (30.1% assist rate/4.7 APG). He has now posted consecutive games with at least eight dimes and two of his last three have been 36+ DKFP points. This is a bit of a gut call but Johnson is one of my top mid-priced guards on today’s slate.

Other Top Guards

  • Kendric Davis - Memphis ($10.2K/$8.4K FD) AAC leading scorer is always in play but he’s pricy and a GTD.
  • EJ Harkless - UNLV ($8.2K DK) The late hammer game play. 30/30 Club member (32.1% usage and 31.8% shot rate) with 35 DKFP+ in six of last seven games.
  • Boo Buie - Northwestern ($8.1K DK) Has been on a tear averaging 20.4 PPG and 4.8 APG with a 30% usage over his last five games.
  • Jayden Taylor - Butler ($7.0K DK) Has played every single minute in three of his last four games and is carrying a 27% usage rate with 17.4 PPG over the last five games. Will be a popular mid-priced play.
  • Jack Clark - North Carolina State ($6.2K DK/$7.7K FD) Just returned after missing a month and smashed against Syracuse with 15 points and nine rebounds (32 DKFP); Clark is healthy and this price is far too cheap so lock him in as a main lineup-type play.
  • Caleb Love - North Carolina ($7.8K DK/$6.5K FD) Love the FD price on Love who carries 28% usage over his last five games with 20.2 PPG (30 DKFP).

CBB DFS TOP VALUE GUARD

Ty Berry - Northwestern vs. Iowa ($5.1K DK)

Leading up to this season, third-year guard Ty Berry was seen primarily as a role player for this team with some value as a three-point shooter. He’s now found his way into the starting lineup and is consistently one of the most versatile players on the floor with 8.5 points per game, highlighted by a monster game at Nebraska where he went for 26 points (39.3 DKFP). Berry is currently averaging 4.6 rebounds and an impressive 1.5 steals and while playing on the wing he has become a master at jumping passing lanes and fast break finishes.

Other Value Guards

  • Eric Hunter Jr. - Butler ($5.5K DK) Smashed this same Georgetown team on New Years Day for 11 points, eight rebounds, and five assists (33 DKFP). He also plays nearly every minute.
  • Keisei Tominaga - Nebraska ($5.9K DK) We called his career game two weeks ago today (30 points/38 DKFP against Penn State) and he hasn’t stopped to take a breath. Tominaga is red hot averaging 26 points per game since that day with a 26% usage rate.
  • Roddy Gayle Jr. - Ohio State ($3.3K DK/$3.9K FD) Gayle has now started back-to-back games and is averaging 25 minutes. He will not win you a GPP but a 4-5X return on value is not out of the question.
  • Emanuel Sharp - Houston ($3.8K DK/$4.0K FD) Sharp will give you around 20 minutes and has been 4-6X value over his last two games (23 actual points/19 DKFP) with 21% usage when on the court.
  • Shane Nowell - UNLV ($3.6K DK) Another guard who will give you 20 minutes with a 15 DKFP floor.

CBB DFS TOP FORWARDS

Zach Edey - Purdue vs. Ohio State ($11.6K DK/$9.4K FD)

There is not much to say about Edey except he is the best college player in the land. He is the heavy favorite for the Wooden Award (Top Player in the nation) and the 7’4” center is just dominating with 22 points per game (5th in the country), 12.8 RPG (2nd in NCAA) and 2.3 BPG. Edey is also averaging 6.9 free throw attempts per game, which ranks 19th nationally, first in the Big Ten and third among Power Conference players. No one on this Ohio State team can stop him. You should just figure out a way to get him in your lineup.

Manny Bates - Butler vs. Georgetown ($7.3K DK)

Butler is a whole different team when Bates is on the court and playing well. He seems to be recovered from his mid-season knee issues and the NC State transfer has elevated his play the past few games with 35 DKFP+ in two of his last three contests. He can keep the ball moving from the post and it is very apparent with his efficient play that the Bulldogs are looking for Bates early and often in the paint. Today, Butler will be facing Georgetown and their 244th adjusted efficiency defense and low 30.4% defensive rebounding rate. Manny Bates will eat today. Note: Bates suffered a shoulder injury at the end of the Villanova game on Tuesday so he is considered a GTD- but is one of my favorite plays if he starts.

Other Top Forwards

  • Armando Bacot - North Carolina ($10.5K DK/$8.6K FD) 27.6% usage with a 38.7% combined rebound rate. He should be lower owned coming off one of his worst games of the season and he has not hit 40 DKFP in a month. He demolished NC State with 51 DKFP in an earlier meeting and is the Edey pivot play.
  • Kris Murray - Iowa ($10.0K DK) Leads the Iowa offense with a 25.3% usage, 28.7% shot, 29% combined rebound, and 3.4% block rate. He was great for us last Sunday with 61 DKFP. He’s always capable of a 50-burger.
  • DeAndre Williams - Memphis ($9.6K DK/$8.2K FD) One of our DFS favorites and always in play, especially if Kendric Davis (GTD) sits as the usage will all funnel to Williams and his 40 DKFP average over the last five games.
  • N’Faly Dante - Oregon ($8.0K DK) The Ducks usage (25.8%) and shot (25.9%) leader plus has a near-elite 34% combined rebound rate and 5.6% block rate. He should get you 25-35 DKFP on a nightly basis.
  • Mouhamed Gueye - Washington State ($8.3K DK) Gueye has similar numbers to Dante (27.3% usage, 26.3% shot with a 31% rebound rate). While Dante is a safer cash play, Gueye is more of a GPP target that can bring home a 50-burger any night (as well as a single-digit score).
  • Derrick Walker - Nebraska ($7.5K DK) 28.2% usage, 25.4% shot rate, and UMD has a reputation that they will get eaten up by big post players (allowing nearly ten rebounds a game to centers).
  • Brice Sensabaugh - Ohio State ($7.2K DK/$6.8K FD) 30/30 player in addition to 32.2% usage which is seventh in the nation, 34.9% shot rate which is sixth in the nation.
  • Taylor Hendricks - Central Florida ($8.1K DK/$7.9K FD) All-AAC freshman leads the Knights with 14.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
  • Naje Smith - Boise State ($6.9K DK) He’s a bit volatile but Smith can return 5X value with a 20 DKFP floor. 7.7% offensive rebound rate and 4.2% block rate.
  • Leaky Black - North Carolina ($6.3K DK/$5.3K FD) Black is coming off a 13-point, nine-rebound game against Miami (34 DKFP) and a double-double at Duke a week or two before that. This is a safe price for the Tar Heel swingman.

CBB DFS TOP VALUE FORWARD

Jalen Thomas - Butler vs. Georgetown ($4.4K DK)

Thomas is Butler’s backup big man that gives them plenty of rim protection at the back end of their defense. He is now getting more minutes (30 against Villanova on Tuesday night) and if we see the same amount of time on the floor against a bad Georgetown defense in a pace up today then 5X value is not out of the question.

Kalu Ezikpe and Ody Oguama - Cincinnati @ Central Florida ($3.3K DK/$3.3K FD & $3.8K DK/$3.6K FD)

Viktor Lakhin has missed the last two games with a sprained ankle and is questionable to play today. Ezikpe has started in Lakhin’s place and pulled down eight rebounds against USF but was held to three at East Carolina as he battled foul trouble. Oguama smashed in the Tulane game (the game in which Lakhin got hurt) with 16 points and 13 rebounds (37 DKFP) and had 18 points against USF four days later. He came back to earth last game and had just two points and six rebounds against ECU. Both are in play today against a weak UCF interior as risky punts if Lakhin remains out.

Other Value Forwards

  • Matthew Nicholson - Northwestern ($4.9K DK) 31.9% combined rebound and 7.5% block rate.
  • Bradley Ezewiro-  Georgetown ($3.8K DK) Has been playing well (24 DKFP avg last 3 games) and is fully in play as a value if Wahab is still out.
  • David Muoka- UNLV ($4.7K) 17+ DKFP in four of his last five games.
  • Felix Okpara- Ohio State ($3.2K DK) Averaging 4.0 RPG in the 13.6 minutes he plays.
