College Basketball CBB DFS Top Plays February 11

CBB DFS Top Guards

Bryce Hopkins, Providence @ St. John’s ($8.4K)

A former top-40 prospect at Kentucky, Hopkins is the leading scorer and rebounder for the No. 20 team in the nation and trending toward the top of the Big East Player of the year race. Today, he gets to face the #3 adjusted tempo team (73.2) in all of college basketball, St. John’s and Providence carry the highest implied team total on the slate (78 points). Hopkins plays 35 minutes with 32+ DraftKings fantasy points (DKFP) in six of his last seven games and has an enormous ceiling in this matchup. $8.4K is just too cheap here in a dream-game environment as Hopkins is the top pay-up guard on the slate.

Andre Jackson, Connecticut @ Creighton ($5.4K)

Jackson, arguably one of UConn’s most important players, has been in a bad shooting slump for the last three weeks or so. His offensive struggles were so bad that after he missed his first eight shots against Xavier last month, Xavier's defense left Jackson with feet of space when he had the ball on the perimeter, begging him to shoot the ball. He had a semi-breakout last Saturday against Georgetown (30 DKFP) but Jackson’s price has dropped over $2K since January 4th. This may more of a gut call but this is too good of a player and stat-sheet stuffer to be sitting with a $5.4K price tag. Andre Jackson will be in one of my main lineups today.

Other Top Guards

  • Jalen Pickett, Penn State ($9.7K) - Always in play, but not the greatest matchup today.
  • Terquavion Smith, North Carolina State ($9.1K) - 30% usage over the last five games with a 32 DKFP average.
  • Wendell Green Jr., Auburn ($7.8K) - 29% usage and three straight games over 30 DKFP. It's a great game environment today for Auburn and Green.
  • Carson Wallace, Kentucky ($7.5K) - Love this spot with CJ Fredrick out and Sahvir Wheeler hurting; solid floor for Wallace today.
  • Makai Ashton-Langford, Boston College ($7.9K) - Has 32 DKFP in five of his last six games and the one flop was against Virginia.
  • Devin Carter, Providence ($8.4K) - 37 DKFP in last meeting against St. John’s; 28 DKFP in all but one game since December.
  • Posh Alexander, St. John’s ($6.3K) - If Alexander gets the start today, I love him at this price. He can smash in this environment.

CBB DFS Value Guards

Kario Oquendo, Georgia vs. Kentucky ($4.6K)

Be forewarned that Oquendo will tilt us, but this was a $9K player back in November. He’s never seen a shot he didn’t like and if Terry Roberts is out again (concussion), Oquendo is worth the risk at this season-low $4.6K price tag. With a 25.5% usage and 27.2% shot rate, Oquendo is a main cash-type play if Roberts is out today and a GPP play if Roberts does return.

Chandler Jackson, Florida State vs. Pittsburgh ($3.8K)

With the season heading into the final stretch, the Florida State program is now concentrating on the development of the young players to create a solid foundation moving forward.

One of the most important pieces of the future is freshman point guard Chandler Jackson. Going into the Syracuse game this week, Jackson’s season averages stood at 2.7 points, one rebound, and one assist but then he got the call for his first career start and did not disappoint. In 25 minutes, he scored seven points, pulled down a couple of boards and dished out six assists for 23 DKFP points. Now the Seminoles face Pittsburgh at home and if Jackson draws his second-straight start, he will be a very popular cash play at the sub-$4K price tag.

Other Value Guards

  • Jared Bynum, Providence ($5.5K) - Bynum's 28.2% assist rate is top-100 nationally. Since he returned from injury on January 25th, Bynum has double-digit DKFP in all four games played and 23+ DKFP twice. This is one of the top game environments on the slate and I really like him in this spot.
  • Tyrese Hunter, Texas ($4.9K) The Iowa State transfer has not had the season that many expected and is now priced all the way down to $4.9K, but this is still a high-caliber guard and he gets a fast-paced game environment as the ball will be in his hands.
  • Antonio Reeves, Kentucky ($5.1K) - CJ Fredrick is out and if Reeves sees 30 minutes again, he could crush 5-6X value if his shots fall. Reeves also sports a 27.5% usage rate in his last five games.
  • Brevin Galloway, Clemson ($4.9K) - At least 20 DKFP in all but one contest since December 30th and plays 30+ minutes.
  • Jahvon Quinerly, Alabama ($4.5K) - High ceiling at this price for Quinerly, but he sure can be volatile though.
  • Justin Hill, Georgia ($5.3K) - If Terry Roberts is out again (concussion), Hill becomes a strong play at the point. Has 25 and 34 DKFP last 2 games with 26% usage; fade if Roberts is in the lineup.
  • Otega Oweh, Oklahoma ($3.9K) - Has played 20+ minutes in two straight games with 22 and 23 DKFP. Also has a 23% usage rate when on the floor. May be a popular cash value dart throw today against Kansas.
  • Joe Bamisile, Oklahoma ($3.4K) - The Sooner value pivot from Oweh. This is my “Keisei Tominaga Sneaky Play of the Day” as the George Washington transfer is probably the most physically gifted player on the Sooners roster and is back in the rotation averaging 10.5 points, four rebounds and one block in 18.5 minutes over the last two games.

CBB DFS Top Forwards

Oscar Tshiebwe, Kentucky @ Georgia ($9.9K)

He is in his longest slump as a Kentucky Wildcat, but the big center could certainly bust out today in an important late-season road test at Georgia. Tshiebwe was just named a top-10 candidate for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award as college basketball’s top center (trophy he won last year), and this could be his “get right” game. Tshiebwe is averaging 15.5 points and leads the nation with13.3 rebounds per game even with his recent struggles from the floor. The last time Kentucky faced off against Georgia, Tshiebwe took over the game in the second half with an amazing line of 37 points and 24 rebounds, to propel Kentucky to an 85-71 victory. Can we get an encore?

Johni Broome, Auburn vs. Alabama ($8.9K)

If you can’t get up to Big Oscar today, then Broome is an excellent consolation. Broome heads into his first Auburn-Alabama matchup just shy of averaging a double-double for points (13.7 PPG) and rebounds (9.0 RPG) in SEC play. The Tigers hope he can match those numbers today at Neville Arena and if he keeps his hands to himself and doesn’t get into foul trouble, Broome will crush in this high-paced rivalry matchup.

Justyn Mutts, Virginia Tech @ Notre Dame ($8.3K)

It’s not even up for debate, Justyn Mutts is one of the best passing forwards in not just the ACC, but in college basketball. His passing skills in Tech’s motion offense will bring the Hokies to life when the offense gets stuck as he has dished out six or more assists in six of his last eight games.

Against Virginia and Syracuse, Mutts dimed his teammates eight times for buckets in each game and now gets a tasty matchup against Notre Dame. With a 31.7 DKFP average over his last five games and 12.2 PPG and 5.9 RPG over that span, Mutts is one of my favorite pay ups today.

Quinten Post, Boston College vs. North Carolina State ($7.9K)

We have been yelling it from the rooftops since his season debut on New Year’s Eve, “play Quentin Post for 30 minutes!” Well, it’s finally happening and Post has become a monster in the DFS world. In his first game playing 30 minutes, he put up 50 DKFP at Notre Dame and over the next six games, has been 30+ DKFP in all but one. Post’s price has even dropped a couple hundred to $7.9K and with 28.2% usage and 30% shot rate, he is in play in all formats today.

Other Top Forwards

  • Armando Bacot, North Carolina ($10.2K) - Too many great forwards on this slate and Bacot is one of them. Today could be a huge spot against first-place Clemson.
  • Jalen Wilson, Kansas ($9.5K) - Tough matchup today. but it’s Jalen Wilson. He is a stud and one of the best in the land. Wilson has 40+ DKFP on the road this season.
  • Grant Basile, Virginia Tech ($8.7K) - Has been smashing with 40+ DKFP in three of last five games and 33+ in all five of those games. One of Mutts or Basile will be in my main lineup.
  • Julian Reece, Maryland ($6.4K) - Reece is a sneaky play as big men in the lane destroy Penn State.
  • Timmy Allen, Texas ($6.8K) - Allen has 25+ DKFP in his last three games.

CBB DFS Value Forward

Chris Livingston, Kentucky @ Georgia ($4.5K)

Kentucky may have lost to Arkansas by 15 points this week, but you can’t blame Chris Livingston. The 6-foot-6 freshman finished with 13 points and five rebounds on 5-of-10 shooting (including a pair of three-pointers) in his best performance in a Kentucky uniform. The former five-star recruit is coming into his own as a college player as the game is slowing down for him. If Sahvir Wheeler is out again, Livingston becomes a near cash value lock.

Other Value Forwards

  • Ernest Ross, North Carolina State ($4.2K) - Playing 20 minutes now and can put up DKFP quickly.
  • Naheem McLeod, Florida State ($4.0K) - McLeod is back healthy and played 26 minutes with 16 points and eight rebounds in his last game for 32 DKFP. He won’t be $4.0K for too much longer.
  • Devin McGlockton, Boston College ($3.7K) - 21 points and 21 DKFP last time out against Virginia Tech.
