CBB DFS Top Guards

Meechie Johnson Jr.- South Carolina vs. Eastern Michigan ($6.7K)

Johnson is coming off a career night against Western Kentucky as he scored 25 points and made six 3's showing awesome shooting and creative playmaking skills. He is no longer rushing his shots when taking it to the rim and is finding open teammates on the move. The speedy point guard is giving the Gamecocks a much-needed secondary scorer that can shoot and create his own shots alongside GG Jackson. Over his last five games, he is averaging 33.20 DK fantasy points and playing nearly every minute of the game. Tonight they get a nice matchup against Eastern Michigan- and their 351st-ranked adjusted defense efficiency in the nation.

Emoni Bates- Eastern Michigan @ South Carolina ($7.0K)

After a tough freshman year with Memphis, Bates has found new life with Eastern Michigan. Always thought of as the top player in his class, Bates only averaged 9.7 points on 37 percent shooting but now as a sophomore, he has seen an offensive resurgence and his name is back in NBA draft talk. Bates is averaging 19.2 points on 44 percent shooting for EMU, and is hitting 36% of his 7.5 attempted 3-pointers per game. His usage rate is up to 27.6% with a team-leading 29.7% shot rate plus he carries a 20.2% defensive rebounding rate. If EMU has a shot of knocking off South Carolina tonight it will fall on the shoulders of the former 5-star.

Other Top Guards

Top point per $ Plays

  • Jaylen Clark- UCLA ($8.2K) 36 DKFP L5- straight stud
  • Drew Peterson - USC ($8.9K) Great game environment
  • Tyson Acuff- Eastern Michigan ($5.9K) 41 DKFP last game- 4 30+ DKFP in last 6 games- solid cash play price
  • Boogie Ellis- USC ($6.9K) 4 straight 20+ DKFP
  • Kobe Johnson- USC ($7.8K) Coming off a dud against CVSU but 4 straight 30+ DKFP before that
  • Caleb McConnell- Rutgers ($7.2K) My guy- always a solid DFS play

CBB DFS Value Guards

Will Douglas- Prairie View A&M @ Texas A&M ($5.0K)

Prairie View has lost six straight and is now 1-7 on the road and they have a tall task tonight against Texas A&M which is tuning up before their SEC opener. One bright spot is Douglas as he leads the team in scoring at 15.0 points per game. I love this play and he may come in a bit under-owned with Sam Sessoms being the more popular play in this price range. Douglas is a hair shy of our coveted 30/30 DFS club as he carries a 29.5% usage and 29.6% shot rate but that is close enough and he is one of our top values of the slate. Douglas has had a few down games in late November/early December but is rolling now with a 25 DKFP average over his last two and we want to play these guys that take all of their team's shots.

Sam Sessoms- Coppin State @ Rutgers ($5.6K)

I will be featuring two guard value plays instead of the usual one guard/one forward tonight. First, there is not a slam dunk value at forward and second, Sessoms is a blatant DraftKings misprice at $5.6K. The former Binghamton (America East leading scorer as a soph) and Penn State point guard has found a home at Coppin State and immediately became one of the most prolific scorers in the MEAC and all of the mid-major basketball ranks. The walking bucket is a member of the coveted 30/30 club (30.6% usage/30.8% shot) and the nation's 4th leading scorer

Top point per $ value plays

  • Kyle Harding - Prairie View A&M ($3.9) played 28 mins last game and exploded for 15 pts
  • Kam'Ron Blue- Coppin State ($3.8K

CBB DFS Top Forwards

Clifford Omoruyi- Rutgers vs. Coppin State ($8.4K)

First off I do not like paying north of $8K for Big Cliff because he sure can be a tilting DFS play but he is in a smash spot tonight. Cliff is now the leader of this Rutgers team as he has a team-best 26.9% usage and 26.1% shot rate but more importantly are his rebounding rates- 11.8% offensive and 25.9% defensive (42nd in the nation) at 8.8 boards per game. He is coming off a huge game against Bucknell scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and we may see the same thing here tonight as Coppin State struggles on the boards. The Eagles team offensive rebounding rate is 19.8 (354th in the nation) and their defensive board rate is only 36.4 (352nd in the nation)- load up on big Cliff O tonight in a pace up.

Gregory Jackson- South Carolina vs. Eastern Michigan ($7.8K)

It's been a long time since I featured two Gamecocks in the same Playbook but GG Jackson is going to be a star. Jackson decommited from North Carolina last summer after he was reclassed into the 2022 class after taking home MVP honors at the NBA Players' Association Top 100 camp held in Florida where he dominated 2022 seniors. With UNC out of scholarships for 2022-23 GG stayed home and has already made his mark as he and Alabama's Brandon Miller are the only two freshmen who rank among the top 100 scorers in college basketball. After his signature game against Georgetown earlier in the month where he went for 22 points and eight rebounds, GG has continued to be active above the rim and has shown the country that he can score at all three levels especially playing downhill plus his ability to score with his back to the basket. Keion Brooks is also a top play at forward tonight but I rolling with GG Jackson against a horrible EMU post-defense as he continues to grow into a dominant point forward.

Other Top Forwards

Top point per $ Plays

  • Keion Brooks- Washington ($7.5K) If I can get all 3 of Cliff/GG Jackson and Brooks I will be a happy man- Brooks is the Husky offense (27% usage and shot) and this is a smash spot for him
  • Tyler Wahl- Wisconsin ($8.5K) I doubt I go with Wahl but he should dominate WMU
  • Jaime Jaquez Jr G/F - UCLA ($9.3K) We know what we get with JJ but he isn't coming cheap
  • Mouhamed Gueye- Washington State ($7.7K) Pace up game but GPP-only due to the other studs in same price range
  • Liam Robbins- Vanderbilt ($8.1K) GPP-only but has the ability to take over the slate
  • Hayden Brown- South Carolina ($7.4K) See GG Jackson above- EMU post defense is the worst
  • Joshua Morgan- USC ($6.3K)

CBB DFS Value Forwards

Top point per $ value plays

  • Quentin Millora-Brown - Vanderbilt ($3.9K) Too cheap but still volatile
  • Yahuza Rasas- Prairie View A&M ($3.4K) Boom or Bust but gotta love the price- if he doesn't foul he could put up a big number
  • Yusuf Jihad- Eastern Michigan ($4.5K) Coming off 25 DKFP against Detroit but can expect 10-15 DKFP
  • Jalin Billingsley- Eastern Michigan ($4.2K) 20 mins and back-to-back 16 DKFP games
  • Josh Gray- South Carolina ($3.9K) Double-digit DKFP in 3 of last 4
