College Basketball CBB DFS Picks

CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Tamin LipseyISUUH870038.14850035.60
At first glance, Tamin Lipsey seems like a fade candidate because of the matchup vs Houston’s top-ranked defense. Yet, the Iowa State combo guard has such a strong DFS floor with his consistent stat-stuffing ability. Lipsey is averaging 14.7 points, 6.0 assists, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.4 steals per game while being locked into usage and shot volume. He’s coming off a dud effort on the road vs Oklahoma, but this can be a bounceback at home to his 40 DK level despite the matchup and low-total game flow.
Kadary RichmondSHUGU860034.07
Kadary Richmond has been excellent all season for Seton Hall but especially lately. He’s put up 30+ DK in four straight games and is averaging 34 DK on the year. Richmond stuffs the stat sheet every game in his high-usage role running the offense with heavy shot volume and plenty of ancillary stat production. This is a favorable matchup vs Georgetown and Richmond should continue producing like a DFS stud even on the road.
RayJ DennisBAYBYU770029.93730026.28
On paper, this is a tough matchup vs BYU’s 6th-ranked defense. Even so, this game has one of the highest totals of the slate and RayJ Dennis has the upside to perform like a top-tier guard while at home. He comes in hot with 18 points scored in back-to-back games with 33 and 29 DK in these past two contests. Dennis has shown the willingness to take on a bigger shot volume with better DFS performances in some of Baylor’s tougher games this year, so don’t overlook him tonight.
Kevin MillerWAKEFSU760029.86740027.91
Wake Forest has two stud guards to strongly consider tonight with both Kevin Miller and Hunter Sallis firmly in play. The Wake offense revolves heavily around the backcourt duo and both come in playing well. Sallis is averaging 19.6 PPG and 33 DK over the past five games while Miller is averaging 18.8 PPG and 31 DK over the past seven contests. Despite being on the road, this is a pace-boost matchup against Florida State’s inconsistent defense. Both can be rostered as safe cash guards.
Antonio ReevesUKMIZZ730028.77
As usual, Kentucky’s slew of top-tier guards are all in play for the DK slate. This matchup vs Missouri is the highest total of the night and we can bank on Antonio Reeves, Reed Sheppard, and Rob Dillingham being plenty involved in the scoring. Sheppard and Dillingham are always in play, but Reeves might be the better GPP option. He comes in hot with 30, 27, and 19 points scored in the past three games with 39 DK in two of those.
Jeremy RoachDUKEPITT720026.04680024.61
Jeremy Roach has been an alpha playmaker and scorer for Duke for more than a month now. He’s averaging 17.3 PPG and 30 DK over the past nine games while playing with plenty of confidence. Roach just had 18 points and 36 DK vs Notre Dame on Saturday and should have another stud cash performance tonight. Duke has leaned on him on the road and this game vs Pitt could call for another big Roach outing.
L.J. CryerUHISU700026.77690024.67
The road matchup vs Iowa State’s 5th-ranked defense in a low-scoring game will likely make Houston’s top guys contrarian plays tonight. Still, there’s GPP upside for L.J. Cryer to outperform some guards priced higher. Cryer is always capable of scoring 20+ points with 30+ DK because of his three-pointers. He’s shooting a team-high 40% from three while regularly taking a ton of deep shots. Iowa State allows the 4th-highest rate of threes in college hoops, so it plays into Cryer’s strengths.

CBB DFS Value Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Tamar BatesMIZZUK570015.52
Tamar Bates is consistently playing 25-30 minutes per game with Caleb Grill out for Missouri. This bigger role has also resulted in larger offensive usage with an uptick in shot volume. He’s taken double-digit shot attempts in three of the past four games with 22, 25, and 15 points scored in those contests. Bates also has 26, 17, 35, and 21 DK in the past four games. Mizzou gets a pace-boost here on the road and Bates can come through as a value in cash or GPP.
Myles StuteSCARBAMA530019.86
On the DK slate, Myles Stute is really affordable for his production lately. He has 20+ DK and double-digit points scored in four straight and five of the past six games. Stute is South Carolina’s best 3-point shooter (40.6%) and that perimeter scoring will be needed to keep up with Alabama tonight. Plus, this is a pace-boost matchup. He can return value even if the Gamecocks lose by double-digits because this will be a higher-scoring game flow.
Justin EdwardsUKMIZZ500019.02
Justin Edwards has admittedly underwhelmed thus far. After entering the season as the favorite to be the No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick, Edwards is now the 5th or 6th scoring option most nights for Kentucky. Still, this 5k price on DK is now his season-low and he’s become a bargain play. Despite lower usage and shot volume, the wing can still do enough across the board to put up 25+ DK at his best. One of those better efforts could easily come at home in this high-scoring matchup.
Tyrece RadfordTA&MAUB490022.5610021.48
While this is a tough road matchup vs Auburn’s top-10 defense, Tyrece Radford is really affordable at sub-5k on the DK slate. He’s appropriately priced on FD, but the DK price is a nice buy-low opportunity. Radford recently returned from injury and has 26 and 23 DK in the past two games. He had 23+ DK in every game before getting hurt, so it’s a good sign to see him return to that level. Radford would be priced above 7k normally and getting him this cheap feels like a steal. Plus, this is a pace-boost matchup for A&M.
Tyrese ProctorDUKEPITT470021.23540019.88
We have an interesting buy-low situation with Tyrese Proctor right now. The talented guard has now been back for three games since missing time with an ankle injury. He’s still coming off the bench (at least for now) and has been very hit-or-miss. Proctor had 14 points and 22 DK vs Syracuse two games ago and then went scoreless with just 7.2 DK on Saturday at Notre Dame. It’s tough to tell what we’ll get from Proctor game-to-game moving forward, but this is still a buy with NBA-caliber talent and was priced in the high-6k range before the injury. He’s risky, but can easily return value at these depressed prices.
Xavier JohnsonIURU410018.5530017.08
Xavier Johnson recently returned from injury and just went off for 18 points and 31 DK on Saturday vs Ohio State. That’s a pretty good sign that Johnson is close to full health now after being out with the foot injury. Even on the road at Rutgers here, he’s way too cheap on DK. Johnson should be priced in the mid-5k price range at least – and he’s still a decent bargain on FD. Johnson is back to a higher-usage role in Indiana’s backcourt and he’ll be needed tonight.
Jamichael DavisRUIU400014.94510014.15
Jamichael Davis has 25+ DK in three of his last five games, including on Saturday. He scored 10 points with enough ancillary stats in 24 minutes off the bench, which is a good sign after he recently missed a game due to injury. Davis had entered Rutgers’ starting lineup before sitting out, so we’ll see if he returns there tonight. Either way, the freshman is clearly a key piece of this Rutgers backcourt and a nice value on both sites if he puts up 25 DK again.
Jaland LowePITTDUKE400011.72450010.82
With Ishmael Leggett out last game, Jaland Lowe moved into Pitt’s starting lineup and put up 23 DK in 27 minutes. The freshman has been Pitt’s sixth-man this season as the top backup guard and was playing 20 minutes or so over previous games. Leggett is questionable to play again tonight, so we could see Lowe get another start. At home in a slight pace-boost matchup, he can return value at his cheap prices on both sites.

CBB DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Kyle FilipowskiDUKEPITT920038.61870036.51
Kyle Filipowski is coming off his worst game of the season with only 7 points on 2-for-12 shooting vs Notre Dame. Yet, he still put up 25 DK – which goes to show how good his cash floor is even when the shots aren’t falling. Tonight could be a bounce back to the 40-50 DK upside that we’re used to from Filipowski. You can probably look elsewhere in cash for more affordable options, but the GPP potential is always there for the Duke big man.
Johni BroomeAUBTA&M880034.77820032.59
For those that play CBB DFS, you know Johni Broome has a GPP ceiling that’s right on par with Zach Edey and Kyle Filipowski at his best. The Auburn big man just went off for 52 DK two games ago vs Penn and always has that upside to drop 50+ DFS points. It’s worth noting that this matchup vs A&M is a paced-down one, but Broome can still dominate the paint on both ends to smash the slate. He’s not as safe in cash, though is a viable pivot away from Edey (on FD) or Filipowski.
Tre MitchellUKMIZZ730031.67
Like the top Kentucky guards, Tre Mitchell is also always in play for GPPs. His game-to-game DFS production is a bit inconsistent to trust in cash, but the upside for a big stat line is there tonight at home in a higher-scoring, uptempo matchup. Mitchell just posted a double-double with 29 DK vs Florida and he had 47 and 30 DK in the previous two contests. He has the ability to match or exceed the production of those forwards priced higher.
Efton Reid IIIWAKEFSU700026.54740025.07
Efton Reid has been a stud for Wake Forest ever since he entered the starting lineup in December. Over the past four games as a starter, the big man has 33, 30, 37, and 27 DK while averaging 10.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks/steals per contest. He’s also playing heavy minutes in Wake’s tight rotation. Florida St does have some size to slow him down, but it’s also a poor defensive rebounding team. Reid could be in line for another double-double and 30+ DK in this spot.
Yves MissiBAYBYU670025.46640024.06
Yves Missi is now at a season-high DK price, which could have people fading him vs BYU tonight. However, the Baylor big man still offers plenty of GPP upside here. Missi is coming off a double-double and 34 DK vs Oklahoma St and also posted a double-double with 36 DK vs Duke recently. He can’t be trusted in cash, but Missi has the ceiling to go off in GPP lineups. BYU allows a lot of scoring inside, which is where Missi does his damage.

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Jaden BediakoSHUGU590023.8
Jaden Bediako is impossible to trust in cash lineups, but he brings in some intriguing GPP upside tonight. Georgetown has a poor inside defense and is a bad defensive rebounding team. That plays right into Bediako’s strengths with the 3rd-highest offensive rebound rate in the sport and ability to score enough around the rim. The Seton Hall center has the ceiling for 28-30 DK points with a potential double-double and a few blocks in this matchup.
Aziz BandaogoCINCYUT550026.36650024.83
Aziz Bandaogo is appropriately priced on FD, but the mid-5k price on DK is a notable value. After missing a few games in December, the Cincy center returned on Saturday and had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 30 DK in the upset over BYU. He now has three straight double-doubles in his last three games and continues to be a force inside for Cincinnati. At home against a shaky Texas team, Bandaogo should exceed value again on the DK slate.
Aaron BradshawUKMIZZ520017.75
Aaron Bradshaw is yet another GPP play to consider from Kentucky tonight. The freshman big man is coming off a 25 DK performance vs Florida on Saturday with 10 points and 7 rebounds. He also flashed 40 DK upside not too long ago vs Penn with 17 points and 11 boards. Bradshaw’s minutes and offensive role are still a bit fluid to roster him in cash, but there’s the ceiling to exceed value at this mid-5k price on DK.
Ismael MassoudGUSHU470020.97
Ismael Massoud is at a season-low DK price now because he’s been underperforming a bit lately. Still, it’s a nice buy-low spot for a guy that’s still playing 30-35 minutes in Georgetown’s tight rotation and is one of their key contributors right now. Plus, Massoud just had 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 21 DK last game vs DePaul – so it seems DK isn’t taking that into account. He’s a value any time he’s priced below 5k.
Fousseyni TraoreBYUBAY430020.04530018.79
After missing a month due to a hamstring injury, Fousseyni Traore returned for BYU on Saturday and only played 9 minutes off the bench. It’s hard to tell how much he’ll play tonight in his second game back, which limits him to GPP lineups as a risky option. However, this is a guy who had 23+ DK in every game before getting hurt as BYU’s starting center. If he returns to that production level, then he’s a clear bargain – especially on DK.
Hason WardISUUH410019.05530018.70
After sitting out a month due to a foot injury, Hason Ward has put up 25 and 20 DK in the past two games since returning. Despite coming off the bench and playing less than 20 minutes per game in these last two contests, Ward scored in double figures both times with efficient DFS production when he was on the court. Iowa State will need his size in the frontcourt vs Houston tonight, so expect him to do enough to return value. He’s too cheap on DK.
Patrick SuemnickWVUKSU39007.06
With Jesse Edwards out over the past month, Patrick Suemnick has been getting more playing time in the West Virginia frontcourt. Over the past two games in particular, Suemnick has put up 18 and 20 DK with 27 minutes played in both. He was WVU’s only bright spot in Saturday’s blowout loss at Houston. He’s clearly earned a bigger role until Edwards returns and getting him sub-4k on the DK slate is a nice GPP bargain.
